Exciting News at Tina’s Cafe 38!

We have some exciting news to share!

We finally felt ready to take the next step at our new location and officially obtained our Baking License! That means you can get ready, folks… because we have some yummy new treats coming your way!

Starting tomorrow, we are introducing our first sweet creation:

SALTED CARAMEL APPLE CRUMBLE BAR

Just look at this deliciousness! A buttery, crumbly apple treat drizzled with rich salted caramel. It is the perfect combination of sweet, salty and absolutely irresistible.

Have we mentioned lately how much we LOVE catering?!

Today, we have the honor of catering for our local Fire Department as they head out to raise money for MDA. If you see them out there, be sure to stop, say hello, and drop in whatever you can afford. Every little bit helps!

And while they’re out doing good, we’ll be here doing what we do best!

We’re OPEN today until 4 PM at 75 Main St. in downtown Torrington, serving up some **Chicken Noodle Soup for the Soul**, our **Potato, Sausage & Kale Soup**, and our ever-popular **Texas-Style Chili**.

Tonight was a very special evening in Torrington as our community came together to honor the men and women who served our country during the Vietnam War era.

While we weren’t able to be there in person, we were truly thankful for the opportunity to contribute by donating catering platters for this meaningful event.

For many Vietnam veterans, the recognition and gratitude they deserved was far too long in coming. Their service, sacrifice, and dedication to our country deserve to be remembered and honored.

We are grateful to have been able to play a small part in an evening dedicated to saying thank you to our local heroes.

’Twas the week before school started…

And all through the land, things were just a little quieter than usual.

Not dead.
Not deserted.
Just enough to make every small business owner look around and think…

“Soooooo… where’d everybody go?”

Was it the beach?
One last summer getaway?
Back to school shopping?
Or are parents simply hiding in their cars for five minutes of peace before the school bus arrives? 😂

We know this week. It’s the annual “cram every last bit of summer into seven days while simultaneously trying to get everyone ready for school” week.

So enjoy that last beach day.
Buy those sneakers.
Find the missing lunchbox.
Pretend you’re emotionally prepared for school to start.

A Just Because Post

We may not be open to the public today, but we’re still here catering and doing what we love!

And while we’re here, we just wanted to take a minute to say THANK YOU!

Thank you to everyone who walks through our doors, grabs lunch, orders catering, brings a friend, leaves us a review, tells someone about us, or simply keeps coming back.

Tina’s wouldn’t be Tina’s without all of you. We appreciate you more than you probably realize.

Now back to catering… because apparently we don’t actually know how to sit still.

A LITTLE R&R… FINALLY!

In lieu of taking a full week or two vacation like normal people, we’ve decided to do something a little different. We’re taking a few Saturdays off between now and Labor Day for some much needed R&R.

As most of you know, we haven’t taken a real break in YEARS. Between moving, rebuilding, Larry’s medical complications and getting Tina’s back up and running, I’ve pretty much been running on caffeine, stubbornness and sheer determination. 😂

But we finally feel like it’s time to breathe a little.

And honestly… Saturdays in August can be a little wonky for small businesses anyway with all the amazing local fairs and events going on. So you may just spot me out enjoying one of them, or you might find me beachside somewhere with my toes in the sand because I have officially given myself permission to take a day off! LOL.

Don’t worry, this is temporary. After Labor Day, we’ll be back to our regular schedule and pretending we know what a normal work life balance looks like.

Thank you for understanding, supporting us, and giving us the opportunity to finally take a little time for ourselves. We’ll see you during the week!
