There are a lot of better ways to handle a bad experience than blasting a local business on Facebook.

Ask for a manager. Speak to someone before you leave. Send us a message. Call us. Give us an opportunity to address the problem.

The waitress you’re referring to is a new hire who is currently training. Had you brought your concerns to our attention while you were here, we would have gladly listened, explained the situation, and done what we could to make it right.

Constructive criticism is welcome. We need it, and we take legitimate complaints seriously. But posting “service was bad” online without ever giving management an opportunity to address it isn’t constructive criticism.

We’re not perfect. Neither are new employees learning a new job. What we will do is address problems when we know about them.

If you have an issue with your experience, please tell us. Give us the opportunity to fix it before deciding the best solution is Facebook.

Since apparently this is how we handle things these days, we figured we’d respond in the same place the complaint was made.

• Toronto Volunteer Fire Department Bash

RIVER RUN 2026 was a success

Kayaks, rafts, paddleboards, giant inflatables, pontoons — if it floated, somebody brought it.

Huge thanks to everyone who showed up, helped out, tied together, paddled, floated and made the first River Run one worth remembering.

The pictures pretty much say it all.

River Run 2026 saw well over 60 participants. We lost count of how many of yinz showed up, but we appreciate every one of you! Special thanks to the watercraft that supported us along the way.
