Why are we excited about participating in the Better Together Film Festival on Saturday afternoon?

Reflect on what actions might honor the 250th Anniversary of America and hopefully find inspiration in these words from the Better Together Film Festival:

The American story has always been written by everyday people stepping up to strengthen their communities and our country. It is through story that we understand ourselves, others, and the world in which we live. Stories have the power to transform the way we see, empathize, interact and disagree with one another. They have the power to bring us together but also pull us apart. They have the power to inspire and despair.

At a time when Americans’ trust in others - and in our institutions - is at an all time low, and our media is plagued by toxically polarizing narratives, the social fabric of our nation can feel beyond repair. Now is a time for Americans to hear, see, and experience the stories of people coming together across their differences to solve problems together in their neighborhoods and in their communities. Now is a time to celebrate people choosing curiosity over contempt, dialogue over demonization, and empathy over apathy. We can feel inspired by these stories, and empowered to take actions that build feelings of unity and belonging in their communities.

So, friends, what are YOU doing this Saturday?

In addition to staying OPEN most of our regular hours, we are ALSO hosting a film festival - join us for a screening of "Abraham's Bridge" - we will screen the film at 2 pm followed by a conversation together. At just 36 minutes long, this short documentary tells the story of Abraham’s Bridge, following the Tri-Faith Initiative from an initial idea in 2005 to the present day, as diverse communities work together to construct their dream, confront unanticipated challenges, and look towards an uncertain future.

Saturday July 4th:
Stop by anytime 8 am - 2 pm for all of our delicious food and drink options!
1:30-3 pm - Better Together Film Festival screening of Abraham's Bridge
