🖤Meanwhile at Not Doug’s❤️…

Every once in a while, we get to be a small part of something much bigger than food.

Meet Eva and Dalton Gibbons. ❤️

Eva grew up in the foothills of Mt. Rainier and Dalton grew up along the Washington coast, but their story eventually brought both of them right here to the mountains outside of Tonasket.

More than 25 years ago, Eva’s grandfather built a log cabin deep in these mountains for her grandparents’ anniversary. For Eva, that cabin became her little slice of heaven and her favorite place in the world.

Then two years ago, despite living three hours apart, Eva and Dalton were introduced through a mutual friend. They quickly realized they had found their person in one another. Someone who spoke the same language, loved the same kind of adventure, and felt at home in the mountains.

The first time Eva brought Dalton to the family cabin, he fell in love with it too.

So when it came time to decide where they would get married, there really wasn’t another choice.

They gathered their closest family and friends at the place that already held generations of memories and added one more pretty incredible one. ❤️

Somewhere along the way, Eva and Dalton also found Not Doug’s. 😂 They loved our food enough that when they started planning their wedding, they asked us to prepare the food they would share with those closest to them on their special day.

That is a pretty damn big compliment.

We were genuinely honored that they trusted us with such an important part of their celebration, and of course we couldn’t send a Not Doug’s bride and groom off without a few things made especially for them.

So Eva got her own Bride Mountainberry Cold Brew, Dalton got his Groom Mountainberry Cold Brew, and naturally there had to be a jar of Gibbons Wedding Edition Not Doug’s Pickles because apparently even romance needs pickles. 😂❤️

Eva and Dalton, thank you for allowing us to be part of your day and for sharing your story with us. We wish you a lifetime full of adventure, mountains, laughter, and a whole lot more memories at that very special cabin.

🖤This Week at Not Doug’s ❤️

This week gave us exactly the kind of customer photo chaos we live for.

We had family time, friend time, good food, milkshakes, valley views, and the kind of random hilarious moments that make this place what it is. Monique was clearly having a full emotional experience with our Shut Your Pie Hole milkshake 😂 She looked about one second away from kissing it 💋but held it together because.. well it was somebody else’s milkshake 😂 We respect the self control 🙌.

And that kid with the cow chip? Absolute legend. Zero hesitation. Full commitment. That photo is pure Not Doug’s energy.

We also caught Brad out here looking like he lost a fight with a chalk marker, and Dominic proudly stepping into his proud pickle boy era with his jars of pickles for the store. Just another completely normal week at Not Doug’s.

That is why I love these customer photo posts. It is never just people sitting nicely and smiling. It is laughs, weirdness, good food, family, friends, and apparently me randomly cruising through the campground on my way to work because this is just what a normal day looks like out here. 😂

You know those gorgeous lemonades staring you dead in the face when you walk up to the red door?

They are not here to be subtle. They are here to show off. 😂

Every one of them comes out looking like it has absolutely no business being that pretty in a plastic cup.

Bright colors. Fresh fruit. Wild flavors. And that tiny touch of glitter that catches the light and gives them that million dollar shine.

Because apparently at Not Doug’s even the lemonade has to be extra.

Walk up to the red door and BOOM. There they are. Bright, cold, loaded with flavor and looking like they came dressed for the occasion.

❤️ Meanwhile at Not Doug’s… 🖤

SHUT YOUR PIE HOLE IS BACK. 🎃🥧

And this year, we weren’t about to let a pumpkin pie shortage screw with us again.

Last season, this milkshake barely got its moment because finding pumpkin pies became damn near impossible.

So this year?

Rose made the pumpkin pie herself.

From scratch. At Not Doug’s. And after some serious testing to make sure that sucker would actually hold up inside a milkshake, we have officially achieved pumpkin pie victory. 😂

That means Shut Your Pie Hole is back with creamy pumpkin goodness, caramel, whipped cream, pumpkin spice and an actual slice of Rose’s homemade pumpkin pie shoved right into the top where it belongs.

No hunting down store bought pies.
No shortage drama.
No compromise.

We just made the damn pie. 😂

If you’ve been waiting for this one since last year, your time has come.

❤️ This Week at Not Doug’s… 🖤

HOLY S**T.

Honestly, that pretty much sums up this week and Labor Day weekend at Not Doug’s. 😂

There was a line. Then there was still a line. Then we looked up and somehow there was STILL A LINE.

People just kept coming.

First timers. Regulars. Families. Birthdays. A 36 year anniversary. People who drove a long way just to come eat with us. We had people packed under the patio, picnic tables full, people waiting outside, and apparently even a little yard sale happening along the way. 😂

And right in the middle of all that beautiful chaos, we did what we do.

We sang. We laughed. We were stupid. We fed an unbelievable number of people and somehow still managed to have fun doing it.

At one point a woman walked up to the door, looked at all of us and apparently decided we were being entirely too quiet.

She just said, “SING!”

We all looked at her for about half a second like… okay. 😂 And then the whole crew started singing along with the music.

Apparently customer requests at Not Doug’s now include live entertainment.

And then there was our youngest party animal, who had himself some milkshake, took a power nap at the picnic table, and rallied just in time for his picture. 😂 I got a chance to visit with his family and they were genuinely wonderful people.

That is one of my favorite parts of weeks like this. In all the insanity, I still get those moments to stop and talk to people. To hear where you came from. To find out it’s your first time. To celebrate your birthday or anniversary. To laugh with you for a minute before somebody needs me and I disappear back into the madness.

Not Doug’s is a beautiful beast.

It is loud. It is ridiculous. It is exhausting. It is fun. And this week, you guys absolutely showed up.

So from all of us at Not Doug’s, thank you.

Thank you for standing in that ridiculous line. For bringing your families. For making the drive. For trying us for the first time. For coming back again. For laughing with us, singing with us, and letting this weird little place in the middle of nowhere be part of your week.

HOLY S**T. What a week. ❤️🖤
