This holiday season, we’re teaming up with Ocean Partnership for Children to help bring gifts to local kids and families.

We’re starting a GoFundMe, and the money raised will go toward purchasing gifts from their holiday wishlist. Once their wishlist is ready, we’ll share that too so you can purchase a gift directly if you’d rather.

Being a small shop doesn’t mean we can’t make a difference together. Whether you donate, buy a gift, or share this video, thank you for helping us spread a little love beyond our coffee shop.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by today, grabbed a coffee, and showed love to our little shop. After a tough week, getting to spend today with you all meant so much to me.

And a huge congratulations to Billy on the grand opening of Aurelia’s Nook! We’re so happy to have you around the corner and loved celebrating with you over The Nook latte. Watching another small business bring their dream to life is something we’ll always cheer for.

Today’s coffee date is around the corner at Aurelia’s Nook!

We made “The Nook” latte to celebrate Billy’s grand opening—maple vanilla salt topped with cold foam, in a cup made just for the occasion.

We see the early mornings, the late nights, the endless decisions, the hard days, and all the love that goes into making First Date what it is.

Joshua and I are so grateful for every person who walks through our doors, brings a friend, comes back for their usual, or tells someone about us.

Closing today was a really hard decision, but this morning I physically couldn’t walk normally or even pick up my 5-month-old. Since the car accident, I’ve been struggling with my body doing the things I need it to do.

First Date is so small that day to day, it’s just me behind the counter. When I can’t come in, there isn’t someone else to take my place, and I feel horrible having to close. I love this shop and serving all of you.

Joshua and I started First Date hoping he could be home more with our family, and so our kids could watch us build something together. We aren’t rich. We built this without outside financial help or a big pile of money to fall back on. There’s so much of our family in this little shop, which makes days like today feel really heavy.

We’ll reopen tomorrow from 8–2 for Billy’s grand opening at Aurelia’s Nook around the corner from 11–3. Come grab our collab latte, The Nook, and show them some love.

Thank you for being patient with me and for supporting our family. I’m having a hard time right now, and your kindness means more than you know.
