We will never forget September 11th 2001. Most of us all remember where we were on 9-11. For me I was in my junior year of High School at Monsignor Donovan which is now called (Donovan Catholic) in Toms River NJ. I was just getting out of a class when someone told us all what happened. I walked into my chemistry class and we turned the TV on and watched while emotions of sadness, fear and terror came across us all. During that time my mother was a director of a department at a NYC hospital. I was so worried trying to call her and getting the message that all circuits are busy for days not seeing her. When my father and I finally got a hold of her, we were relived but knew for weeks after we weren’t going to see her. She slept so many nights at the hospital, hand in had with her team. Americans finest and bravest from all over going into NYC without hesitation, some risking all to go in and save countless lives, with so many losing their own. The one thing that I will always remember is Americas resilience in the weeks after. Being proud to not only be from the tri-state, but so proud to be an American, as I drove up and down the parkway and seeing flags hanging from bridges and overpasses, people honking and holding up signs and all of us standing together as one.
I wish everyone the best today as today is harder for some that have lost so much or are dealing with physical or mental illnesses from being at Ground Zero. My forever thanks to you for what you have sacrificed. That day will always be in my mind and my heart.
Wish you all the best
