If you didn’t know… we were at the OWE festival when a fight and then gunshots broke out right in front of our trailer and Jamaican Spice’s trailer. We don’t need to disclose the gory details here as I don’t think that would help anything at this point, and we have to focus on the fact that our daughter who was with us is safe and sound and make sure she, and we, are okay. If we don’t respond to your texts or messages, we are still processing and doing our best here today.
We don’t want to gain any sort of business from this or exploit this senseless tragedy, and simultaneously we don’t want this to be a place for hate, racism, or anger. We appreciate everyone’s kindness and grace for all involved in this situation.
We want to thank those who offered us a place of solace and respite last night while we waited for news. We cannot thank them, the event organizers, the TPD officers, and the OWE community enough for their generosity, check-ins, and communication, and I’m just as worried about them in all of this. They were impacted. Give them all a hug.
We won’t be on here much for the rest of the day. Tonight we are pouring our hearts and sodas into a grad party for a lovely teenager who deserves all of our attention. So we will go clean the trailer now and gladly get it ready for that. If you’re my neighbor and you see me with some sage in the trailer, mind ya business. 😅
Be kind. Hug your loved ones. Go create something beautiful. ✌️
