It seems impossible to try and communicate how someone has such an incredible impact on a little diner….let alone, an entire community. For over 22 years, Lori was Mayberry Diner. She was everything. She was not just your waitress that greeted you every single time you walked into the restaurant. She became your friend. She came to your kids soccer games. She watched over your aging parents. She mentored you as a young teenager starting your very first job. She laughed with you. She cried with you. She hugged you. She always made sure you felt like you were family. It doesn’t seem fair that someone like that gets taken away from us. There was never an event in Sylvania that someone wouldn’t stop us and tell us how much they love Lori.
As a small business owner, there are always challenges to overcome. Lori always kept things in perspective for us. She would do anything to make sure her diner and her customers were taken care of. It was a constant. It never wavered. It was never questioned. I know we lost count on how many times she said to us “ I love this diner”.
She was funny. She was strong. She was sarcastic. She was intelligent. She was compassionate. She was incredible.
She was Mayberry Diner!
We will miss her terribly and our hearts are broken. Time will help. Remembering her laughter and her smile will help. Knowing that she is in a better place will help. We loved you Lori. You made our world a better place.
