Meet the pilot: Jenny Spencer, flying Sky Candy!

Q: When you are not flying, what do you enjoy doing?
A: I enjoy spending time with my family and scuba diving with my husband.

Q: Why did you become a pilot?
A: I got hooked when I first started crewing for a friend of mine. I was always eager to help with the balloon and learn all that I could. I enjoyed every minute of studying and learning how to fly a balloon.

Q: What do you find is the most challenging about flying a hot air balloon?
A: Weather is the most challenging part of flying. Balloons need to have just the right weather to fly safely. As a pilot, I spend a lot of time analyzing multiple forecasts and making decisions about when it is safe to fly.

Q: What's something interesting that ballooning has allowed you to do?
A: Ballooning has allowed me to travel and make friends.

Q: What do you most want the public to know/understand about hot air balloons and flying them?
A: Flying in hot air balloons is such a peaceful experience. It always fills me with such joy.
