Mountain Gate Family Restaurant was opened 41 years ago in Thurmont, MD and quickly became a popular dining destination. The restaurant was opened by the McCleaf family, who previously owned a nearby truck stop in Thurmont. The McCleafs had a vision to offer a true family restaurant, one where you could be
comfortable taking your family and offer a quality product at a reasonable price.
