We are very grateful for all of our followers and we are blessed to live in a great community. Our nephew's fiance Saydee Benz was recently diagnosed with hodgkin's lymphoma. If you are able to, please pray for them to navigate this new challenge with their new son. If you can, share this message to spread the word. Our family is asking for help as Saydee navigates treatment for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
On August 11th, Saydee went to the ER for a headache that she thought could be related to postpartum preeclampsia, as she was two weeks postpartum. While the doctors were performing a CT for the headache, they discovered a mass that was cut off on the initial imaging. They completed a full chest and abdomen CT right away and discovered that Saydee has a 3.5 inch mass in her chest wall, located near her heart and lungs. After a biopsy on September 24th, they confirmed that she has stage one nodular sclerosis classic Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
Saydee would like to receive alternative treatment at Hope4Cancer in Cancun, Mexico instead of chemotherapy. This consists of a variety of therapies for approximately 8 hours per day for three weeks in Mexico, along with supplies to continue treatment at home for the next year. Saydee hopes to have little to no side effects from this treatment.
Saydee would like to pursue this option so she can continue caring for Colten and have the option to have more children in the future. Saydee and Collin struggled with infertility for three years before having Colten, and at only 24 years old, Saydee is not ready to close the chapter on growing their family. They want to keep their options open as they continue building their family, God willing.
Saydee is a fiancé to Collin and mom to Colten, her 2-month-old son. Collin is working full-time and taking on overtime to support their family while Saydee focuses on her treatment and caring for Colten. She also owns Mindful Essentials, a company that provides non-toxic products. At this time, the Mindful Essentials website is temporarily closed. We are working to get it back up and running so that Saydee can be supported through her business as well. Saydee is passionate about natural living and creating a healthy life for her family. After years of hoping and praying to become a mom, welcoming Colten into their family has been incredibly special. Now, Saydee wants the opportunity to be there for her son, watch him grow, and continue building the family they have dreamed of.
Because of Saydee’s diet changes and supplement protocol, she is unable to breastfeed. We are asking for donations of breastmilk. Saydee has requested that the donors have not received the COVID-19 shot and are not currently taking medication.
Our goal is to raise $75,000 to cover Saydee’s treatment, lodging, flights, and other essentials. This will help give Saydee and our family financial breathing room, so we can focus on her treatment, recovery and our time together.
