This week’s Tavern $12 Lunch Special has officially landed, and if you’re a seafood fan, you’re going to want to make lunch plans ASAP. 👀

We’re serving up a classic Southern favorite this week:

🦐 Fried Shrimp Po Boy

Loaded with crispy fried shrimp, house-made remoulade, shredded romaine, sliced tomato, pickles, and served on an authentic Amoroso hoagie roll with our house-fried chips on the side.

The Po Boy has been a staple of Gulf Coast cuisine for generations, and Chef Justin’s version brings all the flavor you’d expect from this iconic sandwich. This week's Tavern $12 Lunch Special is IN!

And we've got something brand new for you this week that we've never featured on our menu before OR as a special:

Elena Ruz Sliders!

Now, if you're scratching your head at this one and asking yourself, "What is an Elena Ruz Slider?" ... don't worry ... you're not alone! We were too when Chef Justin rolled these out this week, but it turns out it's a delicious chef-inspired Cuban classic with a really cool story behind it.

During the late 1920s or early 1930s, the Cuban socialite Elena Ruz Valdés-Fauli asked for a sandwich with turkey, strawberry preserves and cream cheese in a soft medianoche roll at El Carmelo restaurant in Havana. The sandwich was an original request — it didn’t yet exist on menus in Cuba — but it eventually became something of a beloved national dish. Like other popular Cuban dishes, it combines the sweet and the salty. Some Cuban chefs say that it lends itself to adaptation and experimentation with other jams and sandwich meats. It’s best enjoyed with plantain chips and a Cuban soda, such as Materva or Ironbeer.

🎶 LIVE MUSIC FRIDAY: Judtown 🎶

We’re counting down the days until live music returns to The Tavern, and we’re excited to welcome back a familiar face on Friday, June 5….Judtown!

If you’ve spent any time around the local music scene, chances are you’ve heard Judtown’s name before. Known for his authentic style, strong vocals, and ability to connect with a crowd, he has become a favorite throughout South Georgia and North Florida. Whether he’s putting his own spin on country classics, playing crowd-favorite covers, or sharing original music, Judtown brings the kind of energy that makes a night out memorable.

One of our favorite things about a Judtown show is that no matter where you’re sitting, it feels like you’re part of the performance. You’ll catch yourself singing along, tapping your foot, and ordering “just one more round” before the night is over.
