Back to school, with a little sweetness from Abuelita. 🍪✏️

If you’ve visited Avila, you may already know our Polvorones — lovingly known as “Abuelita’s Cookies.”

They come from a recipe my grandmother has been making for our family for generations. Today, we have the privilege of continuing that tradition at Avila — and the best part is that Abuelita still joins us in the kitchen to make them. ❤️

For back-to-school, we’ve created two special presentations, perfect for teachers, school staff, or a sweet surprise for the kids:

Sometimes the best thing you can do for your business is step away for a few days ☀️

We took a short break to recharge, spend time with family, and come back inspired.

Yesterday, so many of you stopped by and said, “We’re so glad you’re back,” and “You deserved the break.” Those words meant more than you know.

Thank you for supporting our café and for making Avila such a special place. We truly missed seeing you, and we’re so happy to be back doing what we love.

Avila started as a coffee shop with recipes to share. It grew into themed dinners, kitchen demos, and blind tastings. Maria's Carrot Cream Soup alone is worth the trip.
