These drawings are where Special Deliveries began...

Before there was a finished truck, there were pencil sketches on paper. I drew the colors, the wood panels, the lettering, the flowers, the menu board,... and the little details I imagined would one day bring the vision to life.

And then life happened.

The sketches were put away. Time passed. Other responsibilities became more urgent. The dream did not disappear all at once—it just became quieter.

I think that happens to a lot of us.

We get excited about something that matters deeply, but the timing feels wrong. The money is not there. The responsibilities are too heavy. The road ahead feels too uncertain. Eventually,.. we convince ourselves that maybe the dream was unrealistic, or that we missed our chance.

But some dreams do not die.

When something is connected to your heart, your purpose, and the people you feel called to serve, it stays with you. It may change. It may wait,... It may take longer than you ever expected,... But it keeps tapping on the door.

I believe God knows the right timing for everything. Sometimes the season is not yet ready. Sometimes we are not yet ready. But when the moment finally comes, faith requires movement.

The last picture is what happened when I moved.

What began as a drawing became a real truck. What began as an idea became a way to bring joy into our community while supporting the mission of The NeighborBridge and creating greater awareness and inclusion for adults with severe autism and intellectual or developmental disabilities.

Beep beep!!!.. this dream may have taken the scenic route, but it made it.

Never assume that a delayed dream is a dead dream. Keep listening... Keep preparing... And when you feel called to move,.. MOVE.

This picture takes me back to when Special Deliveries was still becoming what it was meant to be...

At the time, the truck was filled with produce, flowers, family meals, and a whole lot of hope. I knew I wanted to create something meaningful, but like most worthwhile things, the vision continued to grow and change along the way.

What never changed was the reason behind it...

As the mother of an adult son with severe autism and intellectual disabilities, I have seen how easily people like Eric can be left out of conversations about employment, community, belonging, and purpose. Special Deliveries was created to help change that story,.. even if we have to do it one event, one conversation, and one ice cream at a time.

Today, the truck brings ice cream and local artisan goods into neighborhoods, schools, businesses, parties, and community events throughout The Woodlands. But what we are really delivering is awareness, connection, and the belief that every person deserves a meaningful place in their community.

Beep beep—there is a mission coming down the road!!

Looking for a quick and light meal you can eat on a Wednesday night? Need something allergen-conscious after church? We have partnered with to bring you and your community great, inclusive meals everyone will love!

Give the Bulgogi Braised Brisket a try! From the chef himself: "We take prime beef brisket and braise it in our house-made Bulgogi sauce until fall apart tender and serve it over a bed of Kimchi slaw. Our slaw features vegetables that are sautéed, blanched and roasted to crunchy al dente perfection, and tossed in a handcrafted dressing of Gochujang, sesame and apple c***r vinegar."
