To my friends, I just want to share that for us, this is so much more than just a soccer game.
My parents didn't leave Bosnia because they wanted to; they were forced to leave because of war and genocide. My parents came to America in 1994 with nothing but a suitcase of my clothes, carrying the weight of everything they had lost and hoping for a chance to start over. They worked incredibly hard, sacrificed so much, and built a life from absolutely nothing so I could have opportunities they never did.
So when you see us proudly wearing our Bosnia jersey, waving the flag, or cheering as loudly as we can, it's about so much more than what happens on the field. It's about honoring where my family came from, remembering the people and the home they were forced to leave behind, and celebrating the resilience that has been passed down through generations. Every match reminds me of how far my family has come and how much they endured to give me the life I have today.
At the same time, I am just as grateful to call America home. This country gave my family safety, hope, and the opportunity to rebuild our lives. Because of their sacrifices and the opportunities America gave us, my family now has a restaurant to be able to give back some of our love & culture back into the community that welcomed us so many years ago.
I will always be proud to be Bosnian, and I will always be thankful to be American. One is my heritage, my roots, and the story that shaped my family. The other is the country that gave us a future. My heart has room for both, and I wouldn't be who I am today without either one. 🇧🇦🇺🇸❤️

We've been working on some exciting improvements at Babo's Cafe, and we're thrilled to finally share one of them! We've been searching for quite some time for someone to pave our entrance. Being a smaller job, it was tough to find a company willing to take it on. Thankfully, one of our wonderful customers, who has become a great friend, from Central Indiana Asphalt stepped in and helped us solve this problem! We are so grateful for the love and support our customers show us, and we're committed to continuing to make Babo's Cafe a comfortable and welcoming home for everyone. 🩵✨
