You may never see Tamera making a pizza, but more than 400 Spinato’s employees know her work pretty well. ❤️

Tamera joined the Spinato’s family four years ago, starting in payroll and assisting our accounting team with accounts payable.

As Spinato’s grew, so did her role.

Today, Tamera processes biweekly payroll for more than 400 employees while also helping our team navigate onboarding, benefits, HR compliance, background and MVR checks, and those moments when someone has a question about their paycheck and needs a real person to help figure it out.

It’s a lot of responsibility behind the scenes, and it touches every person who puts on a Spinato’s uniform.

And now, Tamera has a stake in the company she helps take care of every day. She’s one of our employee-owners. ❤️🍕

In her words:

Ever wonder where the spirits in your cocktail actually come from? 🥃👀

For our Green Godfather, they don’t travel very far.

Our friends at SanTan Brewing + Distilling make their spirits right here in Chandler, so while we were working together on this year’s Wizard of Za collaboration, we had to take a look behind the scenes.

And there is a LOT happening behind those doors.

Brewing, distilling, aging, hand bottling, packaging and even some pretty impressive equipment designed to reduce water and CO2 use. It all happens right here in Arizona. 🌵
Those locally made spirits eventually make their way to Spinato’s, where we use them to shake up the Green Godfather, one of the cocktails created for this year’s Wizard of Za menu. 🧙‍♂️💚

But you don’t have to take our word for what goes into making them.

Football weekends are about more than just the game. They're about bringing family and friends together, cheering on our favorite teams, and making memories along the way. 🏈❤️🍕

Our Glendale location is now opening at 9 AM every Saturday and Sunday throughout college and NFL football season! We'll have pizza, Bloody Marys, Micheladas, and plenty of game day spirit waiting for you.

West Valley, it’s finally your turn. ❤️🍕

On October 19, Spinato’s Glendale officially opens its doors and we are giving away FREE PIZZA FOR A MONTH to a couple of lucky winners!

For more than 50 years, you’ve welcomed our family into communities across the Valley. Now, for the first time, we finally get to bring a full-service Spinato’s restaurant to the West Valley.

You’ll find our new home on the Great Lawn next to State Farm Stadium, with the pizza and family favorites you already know, plus a few things that are uniquely Glendale.

🍕 Open 7 days a week. Glendale will be the only Spinato’s location open on Mondays. All other Spinato’s locations will continue to be closed on Mondays.
🍹 An expanded bar menu. Including Bloody Marys made with our pizza sauce, Micheladas and more.
🏈 A special menu for game days. On home game days, we’ll be serving a special game day menu.

There are also a couple of important things to know before you visit:

👉 We will be giving away FREE PIZZA FOR A MONTH to one lucky person each week for the first two weeks of opening.
👉 Pickup and delivery will be temporarily unavailable until further notice, so for now, come pull up a chair and enjoy your first Glendale meal with us.
👉 And because of our location, on home game days and concert/event days, Spinato’s Glendale will only be accessible to ticket holders, as the parking lot will only be open to ticket holders.

There’s a lot that makes this restaurant different, but the part we’re most excited about is pretty simple:

Five and a half years ago, Morgan joined Spinato’s as a team member.
Today, we get to introduce her as the General Manager of our Ahwatukee restaurant! 🎉🍕❤️

And there were quite a few steps in between.

Morgan started by learning the restaurant as a team member before becoming a Lead. She continued growing at our Tempe location, where she stepped into leadership as a Front of House Manager.

And recently, she earned her biggest promotion yet.
General Manager. ❤️

Now Morgan is bringing everything she’s learned over the past five and a half years to Ahwatukee, where she’ll have the opportunity to keep growing as a leader while helping the team around her grow, too.

And she’s not just leading a Spinato’s restaurant. She owns a piece of the company she’s helping lead. 🍕

As we celebrate National Employee Ownership Month, Morgan’s story is a pretty great example of what we hope ownership can look like: an opportunity to build a career, take on new challenges, and have a real stake in the place you’re helping move forward.

We’re so excited to watch Morgan learn, grow, and make Ahwatukee her own in this next chapter.

Spinato's Experience Dinner Giveaway #6 🍕❤️

Sixteen and a half years ago, Matt joined Spinato’s as a team member in the kitchen. 🍕❤️

At the time, neither he nor we could have known just how far that first job would take him.

Matt learned the kitchen. Then he learned how to lead one.
He became an Assistant Kitchen Manager, a Kitchen Manager, a Front of House Manager, a Company Trainer, then a General Manager.

Today, Matt is a District Manager, helping lead multiple Spinato’s restaurants and the people inside them.

Every new role brought new responsibilities, new lessons, and another opportunity for Matt to grow as a leader. And for more than 16 years, we’ve had the privilege of watching him do exactly that.

Now, after helping build Spinato’s for so much of his career, Matt owns a piece of it, too. ❤️

As one of our employee-owners, he has a real stake in the company he started with all those years ago as a team member in the kitchen.

October is National Employee Ownership Month, and we couldn’t celebrate the people who own 49% of Spinato’s without celebrating someone who has grown right alongside us.

Thank you, Matt, for 16 and a half years of learning, leading, teaching, and helping the people around you grow, too. Here’s to whatever role comes next. ❤️🍕

Have you ever wondered what actually happens after you leave us a review? 👀
You hit “post.”

And on our side, quite a few people start listening.

Whether you fill out one of our guest surveys, leave a Google or Yelp review, send us a DM, or tell us about your experience in a comment, your feedback makes its way to real people at Spinato’s.

Our District Managers, Matt and Zach, see it. Our marketing team sees it. Our operations team sees it. And when your feedback is about a specific restaurant, that location’s General Manager sees it, too.

Then we figure out what needs to happen next.

Sometimes, it’s making sure the right person knows about a concern so we can respond and make it right.

Sometimes, we notice the same piece of feedback coming up more than once. That can lead to a closer look, conversations with our teams, or internal audits to understand what’s happening.

And sometimes, you tell us about an employee who made your night, remembered your order, took extra care of your family, or simply made you feel welcome.
We want those stories to make their way back to our teams, too. ❤️

Because there’s something important about reviews that can be easy to forget when you’re typing one into your phone:
There are people on the other side reading them.

We may spend a lot of time talking about the Spinato’s Experience, but you’re the one actually experiencing it.

If there’s one person who understands what it means to be part of Arizona’s b**r community, it’s Teddy Golden.

Teddy has been part of it for 27 years. And when he hit his 25th anniversary, he decided to start something of his own: AZ LOC ALE B**r Co.

Yes, he put “AZ Local” right in the name. 💚

The idea behind it was pretty simple:
“Sell good b**r to good people and have a good time doing it.”

But AZ LOC ALE looks a little different from your typical brewery.

Teddy doesn’t have a brick-and-mortar brewery or taproom. Instead, he’s built AZ LOC ALE around the relationships he’s made in Arizona’s b**r community. He collaborates, gets his b**r onto taps around the state, shows up at festivals and events, and stays personally involved in just about everything.

He even brews with his friends and colleagues at SanTan Brewing + Distilling, using their brewery to bring AZ LOC ALE b**rs to life. 🍺

Those custom AZ LOC ALE tap handles you see? Teddy makes them himself. The events, sales, promos and presentations? He’s there for those, too.

AZ LOC ALE is family, female and employee-owned, and for Teddy, seeing his b**r poured at local places like Spinato’s means a lot.

In his words, it’s “Local helping Local.”

And this year, that local connection ended up inspiring our entire Wizard of Za collaboration.
Inspired by the pistachio farms of Southern Arizona, Teddy brought an idea to the table:
What if we brewed a b**r with pistachio?

That spark became Pistachio Palooza, the Pistachio Nut Brown Ale from AZ LOC ALE that pairs with this year’s Wizard of Za Pizza.

But the collaboration kept growing.

With Teddy already brewing alongside his friends at SanTan, they joined the fun, too. Their locally made spirits became part of our Green Godfather Old Fashioned and Tipsy Pistachio Espresso Martini.

Before we knew it, one idea inspired by Southern Arizona had brought AZ LOC ALE, SanTan, Spinato’s and wizard_of_za around the same table.

And that’s a pretty good example of what Teddy means by “Local helping Local.” 💚

It’s also what has made Wizard of Za so much fun for the past five years. There are a LOT of talented people making really good b**r right here in Arizona, and every collaboration gives us a chance to bring a few of them together.
