People often assume we started Harvest Chocolate because we love chocolate.
And we do.
But the truth is, we started Harvest Chocolate because we love the agricultural story behind cacao.
Chocolate begins as a fruit. It starts with farmers, harvesting, fermentation, and all the decisions that happen long before a chocolate maker ever touches a cocoa bean.
That part fascinates us.
Every cacao bean we roast has a story behind it. Different varieties, different growing regions, different farming practices, different flavors. Just like wine grapes, apples, or coffee, where and how it’s grown matters.
Then we get to bring our culinary backgrounds into the process.
After years working as chefs in professional kitchens, we fell in love with taking incredible ingredients and turning them into something memorable. Chocolate gives us the chance to do both.
We get to celebrate the work of cacao farmers around the world while highlighting ingredients grown right here in Michigan.
Agriculture first. Culinary creativity second.
Harvest Chocolate was built where those two worlds meet. 🍫🌱
