Our Durham County Memorial Stadium is hosting two of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association's (NCHSAA) state football championships on Saturday, Dec. 13th!
The first game kicks off at 2 p.m., featuring Kinston vs. Shelby in the 3A title game. The No. 14 seed Vikings (11-4) upset No. 1 seed James Kenan 30-7 to win the East. The Golden Lions (12-3) are the West champ after the No. 10 seed defeated Lincolnton 30-0.
The second contest kicks off at 8 p.m., with Hunt taking on Crest in the 5A title game. The Vikings (12-2) are the No. 1 seed from the East. They defeated Croatan 32-29 to advance. The Chargers (12-2) topped Hickory 39-21 to win the West, where they were the No. 4 seed.
