To Our Community,

On Yom Hazikaron, we pause.

We remember the soldiers who gave everything, and the families who continue to carry that weight each and every day. It is a day filled with reflection, gratitude, and a deep sense of loss that words can never fully capture.

And then, almost immediately, we transition into Yom HaAtzmaut.

From remembrance to celebration. From pain to pride. From mourning to the miracle of a nation that continues to stand strong.

That contrast is not lost on us.

It is a reminder that the strength of Israel, and of the Jewish people, is built on the courage and sacrifice of those who serve and protect.

At , we want to take a small moment to recognize that.

If you or a family member have served or are currently serving in the IDF, please join us for a complimentary coffee and muffin on April 21st and 22nd

It is a simple gesture, but one that comes with deep appreciation.

Thank you for your strength.

Thank you for your courage.

Thank you for standing strong in the face of both physical and emotional challenges that most of us can never fully understand.

And thank you to the families who support, worry, and sacrifice alongside you.

We are forever grateful.

With appreciation,
The Secemski Family of Lazy Bean Cafe

I wanted to share this message with all of you for an incredible cause.

Every day, I look in the mirror and ask myself: If not me, then who?
It’s a question that keeps me grounded, reminds me of my responsibility, and pushes me to do my part for the community that has given me so much. I grew up here. I work here. Arielle and I are raising our family here. And we love living here.

We want to pass that same sense of responsibility and love for community on—not only to our children, but to all of you. Because Project Ezrah is not just an organization. It is the heart of who we are: neighbors helping neighbors, families supporting families, ensuring that no one is left behind.
Unfortunately, the needs keep rising. And together, we must raise $1,300,000 so Project Ezrah can continue to support the many families who rely on us.
The official campaign launch is Saturday night, but the site is already open now for donations.
Each and every gift brings us closer to our goal and strengthens the very fabric of our community.

So I ask again: If not us, then who?

Please consider donating to this incredible organization with the link below.

Arielle and I are always happy to discuss more, and please reach out if you have any questions.

With gratitude,
Dani & Arielle Secemski

25 Years Brewed with Love — and We’re Just Getting Started! ☕🎉

This month, Lazy Bean Café turned 25 — and what a journey it’s been.

When I chose to put “Brewed with love” on every coffee cup, I meant it. This café has never been just about coffee — it’s always been about people and community.

Over the years, I’ve been privileged to hear stories of first steps, big dreams, quiet moments, and final goodbyes. I’ve seen strangers become friends, and regulars become part of the Lazy Bean family. People of all ages and backgrounds have found comfort, connection, and caffeine here — and that means everything to me.

To our incredible staff, past and present — you are the heartbeat of Lazy Bean. Your warmth, work ethic, creativity, and care have shaped every smile, every perfect cup, and every special moment shared in our space. You’ve shown up early, stayed late, remembered names, and lifted spirits — all while making it look effortless. I’m endlessly proud and grateful.

Running a local coffee shop is more than business — it’s a shared space for life to happen.

To everyone who’s been part of the Lazy Bean story so far: thank you. You’ve made this place what it is.

Here’s to the next chapter — more great coffee, more memories, and even more love in every cup. 💛

The best is yet to come.

Dear Community Members,

I hope this letter finds you well. As a board member of Project Ezrah and a local business operator, I want to take a moment to share why I am so passionate about the mission we serve.

Now at 32 years old, I often reflect on the experiences that shaped my commitment to this work. At just 20, I witnessed firsthand the struggles some community members face—seeing people ask to hold checks, dealing with bounced payments, watching as credit cards failed to work, and observing individuals asking to put basic necessities on credit. These experiences left a lasting impression on me and deeply influenced my understanding of the challenges many encounter.
ezrah is more than just an organization; it’s a lifeline for individuals and families navigating tough financial waters. Our work not only addresses immediate needs but also empowers individuals to regain their footing and build a sustainable future. Each story we hear—from those we help to those who volunteer—reinforces my belief in our mission and the impact we have.

As a business operator, I understand the importance of community support. I see how a small act of kindness can make a profound difference. Project Ezrah creates a ripple effect, where support doesn’t just help one individual but strengthens the entire community.

I am proud to be part of this community and this team dedicated to uplifting our neighbors and fostering resilience. Together, we can continue to change lives, support families, and create a brighter future for everyone.

Thank you for being an integral part of this journey. Your support matters, and together, we can make a lasting impact.

Warm regards and Shana Tovah to you and your loved ones,

Dani Secemski

Over the past 2.5 years, *1 in 8* families in Bergen County have turned to Project Ezrah for support. This year alone, we have experienced a staggering *40% *increase in clients. The need for funds has never been more pressing. Without immediate financial support, we risk losing the vital services that so many of our neighbors depend on for food, financial aid, and emotional support.

I urge you to act now. Your contribution can help sustain this essential work and make a tangible difference in our community. Please join us in ensuring that Project Ezrah can continue to provide the critical assistance our friends and neighbors desperately need.

Thank you for considering this urgent request.
