🎤 OKAY. THIS WAS SO COOL… 🎶 ❤️

Last night at the Heart of Country Music Festival, Carly Pearce was on stage talking about her hometown Taylor Mill, and the places she remembers growing up here…and then we heard it…

Knuk N Futz 😳 😮 !!!!

I’m pretty sure I turned into a 12 year old girl again. “SHE JUST SAID KNUK N FUTZ!!!”
I was so dang excited!

Then it turned to immediate panic because I didn’t record it! I had my phone tucked away, just enjoying the concert.
Then my brain went to:
“HOW AM I GONNA PROVE THIS?”
You know, to everyone who wasn’t in attendance! 🤣

Around 20 years ago, (maybe Carly could recall the exact years) she sang karaoke at Knukz! 🎤 So to hear her remember Knuk N Futz from the stage, and all these years later, was pretty dang special.

Thank you Carly for remembering this little piece of your Taylor Mill roots. 💕

All this time, we may have been missing the BOAT, literally! 🥬 🤣

I’ve been eating a few versions of this salad much of my adult life and I am finally putting it on our next menu!

I originally thought it would be a classic wedge salad, but now I’m thinking we ditch that and go with a romaine BOAT!

🥬 Crisp Romaine
🍅 Diced Tomatoes
🥓 Bacon Bits
💙 Our Homemade Bleu Cheez Dressing
🥗 Finished with Balsamic Glaze

Considering our Homemade Bleu Cheez is life changing, I figured it time we add it!

‼️ KNUKZ KITCHEN FREEZER SOS ‼️

Not exactly how we wanted to start our Thursday morning!

Our double door freezer decided to call it quits and unfortunately we had to toss lots of breaded product this morning!

We are in need of someone who can get this bad boy up and running ASAP! Our regular crew cannot make it out until later today unfortunately. This heat wreaks havoc on equipment and keeps these repair guys extremely busy!

This freezer is the lifeline to our operations!

I love to barter as many of you already know. 🍗 🍺

Well… Wednesday patio music did not disappoint. Marty Connor, Mike & Nick absolutely brought it! Your vocals, your harmonies, your strummin’, your personalities, all of it!

So many familiar faces, and so many new… From NKY, to the Cincinnati area, and many beyond. Some finding us through our social media, some thru music, but no matter where or how, we appreciate each and every one of you!

To Matt Cowherd, Mike Tekulve and so many other musicians that popped in this season , thank you all for stopping by! There is something special about all of you musicians supporting one another!

Since it’s Wednesday, and that means it is 80 Cent Boneless Day, I thought it might be fun to reopen a great debate. 😜

Are bonelezz wingz actually wingz?
I’ll save my opinion for a little later…
First allow me take you back around 20 years ago…

One of our food reps at the time, Matt D, says to us, “hey guys, you gotta come check out this new product at the food show.”

A BONELESS WING - 🤣😆
As we arrive, and head over to the booth that is featuring this “new boneless wing” we say to him, and I’m paraphrasing as it was nearly 20 years ago…

“What? That’s just a chicken nugget, or a bigger popcorn chicken” and

“What? This must be another west coast trend that will never take off.”

And several other responses that I should probably keep to myself.

At that time, our menu had wings, (actual bone-in wings), chicken tenders, popcorn chicken (YEP) and chicken nuggets. We didn’t need another chicken product for dipping or rolling in!

Matt was certain that boneless wings would be the next big thing! We denied his request for months to do a test run. Eventually he brought in 2-3 free cases and insisted we try them on our guests.

Well Matt, I was wrong. 100% wrong…
Allow me to share some current “averages” to show you exactly how wrong I was.

🍗 BONELESS:
Nearly 10,000 pieces a week
Nearly 520,000 a year
Nearly 620 lbs a week
Nearly 33,000 lbs a year

🍗 BONE-IN WINGZ:
Nearly 12,000 pieces a week
Nearly 600,000 pieces a year
Nearly 2200 lbs a week
Nearly 114,000 lbs a year

SO, IN JUST 5 DAYS OF BUSINESS a week, and with early dining hours, you Knukerz are putting away over a million “wings” combined in a year! That’s nearly 74 tons of chicken! In this little joint alone…

The white-collar wing might soon pass the blue-collar original. Maybe y’all want the glory of eating wings without doing the dirty work! Wings require wet wipes and questionable table manners!

Love em. Hate em. Call em wings. Call em glorified chicken nuggets. Call em white collar wings. Call em saucy nugs. Call em whatever you want.

So you ask me:

Are they delicious? ABSOLUTELY
Do I eat them? ABSOLUTELY
Do I call them wings? I’m staying Switzerland on that one. I’m the one selling both sides of this debate.

However, later this evening I will be ordering my personal favorite:

And boy do we have one heck of a lineup…

This Wednesday, September 9th from 6-9pm we will have Marty Connor, Mike, and NICK! 🎸

You already know and love Marty and Mike- but this time they are bringing Nick along, so technically they should be 33 1/3% better! No pressure Nick!

All joking aside, these guys harmonize beautifully together. And they are just as entertaining between songs. 🤣

You may remember her from earlier this year when she went out to stock beer in some very fierce winds. Somehow this photo of her racked up over 110k views, so I thought I’d bring it back. 🤣

Dee started with Knukz in 2018, left for a couple years in between and has been back with us since 2022. Like many others, you might leave Knukz, but it’s hard to stay gone!

We are so lucky to have Dee on our team. She brings loads of experience, a strong work ethic and a lot of personality all packed into one tiny package!

Apparently today was bring your Honorary Nieces to Knuk N Futz Day…

Reese and Baylor, two of my officially unofficial adopted nieces came to hang out with me today and decided they were running the place 🤣

And I gotta admit, they were very helpful…

Our customers let myself and the girls know how much they loved both of them. Apparently being cute, friendly, and approximately 4 foot tall is an effective restaurant strategy. 🤣

One of my favorite parts of Reese’s customer service philosophy was when a guest asked her for anything she replied:
“I GOT YOU. I GOT YOU” 💕

The day got even better when two other favorite girls of mine stopped in.

Isla, who’s practically a regular around here and has made our FB page more than some of my employees.

And then sweet Alayna made an appearance. what a sweet and funny girl…

A few hours spent with some of my fav girls, and lots of laughs makes for a good day!
And two honorary crew members who may now believe they have jobs.

Sorry girls, Aunt Kelly pays in chicken wings and life experience… 🍗 😘
