The Grove Street Tavern is owned and operated by Brian Levesque and Paul Martin, both life long Taunton residents, and graduates of THS Class of 1987. We look forward to continuing the location's nearly 70-year history of housing successful bars, beginning in the 1950's as the King Philip Cafe, and since 1992 as The Billy Club. When we open our doors in the Spring of 2017, we will feature an entirely new pub menu, live acoustic music and plenty of TV's to watch all major sporting events.

Hello everybody. Thanks for your patience as Brian and I decided how best to handle the transition to new ownership, and some recent staffing challenges.

For the rest of the week, we will be opening at our regular time, but will be closing the kitchen down 1 hour earlier at night. The bar will remain open for an hour after the kitchen closes. This may evolve after we try it for the remainder of the week.

We will be operating with a much more limited menu, until the new owner Brian takes over. We will of course continue pumping out our awesome bah pizza, along with apps, soups and salads.

I won't say come in and say goodbye, because once this change happens, I don't think you'll notice much difference in the place, or the staff. But come in and hoist one for the past 9 years, because you're all the reason why the original GST survived so long! And you'll be a big part of the new GST as well!

To all our valued customers:

It's hard to believe that we have been in business for nine years. We are so thankful for all the love, support, and friendship you have given us. In that time we have worked hard to be active in our community and we are grateful for what we have accomplished; we could not have done it without the fantastic staff working for us over the years.

As some of you may know, we have started the process of transferring ownership of the Tavern. The new owner is Brian Perkins, and you will be happy to hear that he plans to keep the Tavern just the same, with some tweaking here and there.

This was a hard decision, but we feel it is best for our personal lives and other pursuits. We hoped for a seamless transition, but in the business world, that is not always the case.

As a result, there are items to be straightened out before the final transition takes place. In the meantime, we will be making some adjustments to our menu and hours of operation to accommodate our staff and new ownership.

We will remain closed this Tuesday and Wednesday, reopening on Thursday. We greatly appreciate your patience and patronage.

Happy Labor Day weekend everybody! Unfortunately, due to a failed water heater, we will have to remain closed today. We expect to have the water heater replaced prior to Tuesday, and plan to re-open at 11:30 on Tuesday morning.
