One thing about me I choose to let my light shine. 🤍✨

But every now and then, someone or something tries to dim that light. Today’s experience reminded me that basic manners, respect for personal space, and simple human decency seem to be disappearing.

While making a purchase, a young man stood so close behind me that I finally asked, “Are you paying for this too?” 😳 Then another person reached right across me to hand the cashier their items, as if I wasn’t even standing there.

In that moment, I had a choice. I could react… or I could respond.

So I chose to walk away.

Not because I was weak, but because I knew nothing good would come from arguing with people who had already shown me they didn’t respect boundaries or common courtesy.

It reminded me why I choose to be the change I want to see in the world. More kindness. More respect. More compassion. More consideration for others.

Protecting your peace doesn’t mean you don’t have something to say. Sometimes it means knowing when to say enough… and when to walk away.

Today, I chose my peace. And I’d make that same choice again. 🤍🙏🏽

Even in his passing, my cousin brought us all together. Different sides of the family, different generations, all in one room sharing love, laughter, memories, and stories.

Yesterday, I said it was going to be bittersweet. But truthfully… it was more sweet than bitter, just like my cousin, Gary Ginyard. 🕊️❤️

His Celebration of Life brought together every side of our family, and it was beautiful to witness. There were hugs, laughter, tears, stories, and so much love. It reminded me that even in loss, love has a way of bringing people together.

Gary’s legacy wasn’t just in the life he lived—it was in the family and friendships he helped keep connected.

So today, my heart is full. I’m grateful for the memories, grateful for family, and grateful that we had the privilege of loving him.
