Good morning & Happy New Year.

Hard to believe that just a few months ago we were open & excited to see what the new year would bring. Now we reflect on the hard work & satisfaction of owning the Yankee Bean & interacting with all of you on a daily basis.

Reaching out again to let everyone know that Manuel is once again available to do electrical service work. If you could share this post we would greatly appreciate it.

You have all been so wonderful throughout this whole experience & we are thankful for all of your kindness.

Dear Friends,

We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We wanted to check in & let you know that we are doing well and tell you that Manuel has gone back to doing electrical work.

As some of you already know, before The Bean became our life, Manuel was an electrician. He is licensed & insured & he learned from the best, his Dad, the original Yankee.

So with the situation as it is at the restaurant, this seemed to be the logical next step & we thought this would be a good way to get the word out.

Dear Friends,
Seven days after what can only be described as unbelievable, we have come to the realization that the damage to Yankee Bean is too great to overcome.

Twenty years ago we began the build-out at 901 S. Pinellas Avenue, remortgaged our home & went all in. Put together a menu that made sense to us. Argued over adding an Egg Salad Sandwich & if the Cuban should have salami.

When we decided on the concept of Soups, Salads & Sandwiches we didn’t know at the time that the relationships we would build was far more significant than any concept we could ever come up with.

Saying goodbye to all of you this way, due to the circumstances, is difficult. We thought we would be back the day after Helene came through & didn’t want our journey to end this way. Just know that the support & kind words every day kept us going all these years. We will miss each & every one of you immensely.

We’ve gone through the stages of grief when you experience such a loss as this in an instant. But thankfully we have arrived at acceptance.

We hope you will remember us fondly, as we will you. Yankee Bean has ended but our memories will go on forever. Thank you for making Yankee Bean a success.

Sending out a huge ‘Thank You’ to all of you for your kind words & compassion during this difficult time.

We are still in the process of cleaning up from the storm. It has been exhausting & overwhelming. Watching the weather as more storms approach & pray that we do not take on any more water
