Wow, it has been a crazy few weeks at the shop! The team has scooped over 500 gallons of ice cream to make the cones, shakes, and sundaes you love. 💜 Thank you!! With daily operations under control, it is time to layer in some fresh ideas. Keep an eye out as we work through some updates!

We've got a stormy day ☂️ today, but we are open until 8 PM as usual, unless the power grid has other plans... We do have a some extra water around the rear door, so please just use the front door. Thanks!

You all are thinking along the same lines that we are! We hope to be open year round, later at night, expanding the snack foods menu, and more. Give us a little time to work out the logistics! 🤔 In the meantime, come in this weekend for some delicious Hershey Creamery scoops!

Many of you have asked about our hours of operation, we are open everyday at NOON and stay open until 8PM or 9PM on Friday and Saturday. If we can open more, what do you prefer? Earlier, Later, Year-round? We'd love to hear what you think!

Hello! We want to welcome you to Matinee Ice Cream, the former home of the infamous Acme Ice Cream Parlor in downtown Tappahannock! Our family is so excited to be starting up this new adventure, and are so grateful for Bob and Linda who created the nostalgic atmosphere and true community.
