Starting today, the Riverwalk Cafe at TMA, operated by SaltBlock Hospitality, is closing to make way for a new dining experience at the Tampa Museum of Art. Thank you to all who enjoyed our handcrafted meals and beverages over the years. When the Tampa Museum of Art completes its Centennial Renovation and Expansion, guests will have an all-new dining experience in what will be the new lobby of the Museum, with the best views of Tampa's Riverwalk and Downtown setting. We will keep you posted as this exciting project moves forward!

The TMA Line & Prep Chef is responsible for the efficient and thoughtful ex*****on of prep & production at the Riverwalk Cafe (RWC) within the Tampa Museum of Art. The TMA Line & Prep Chef works in an open setting, where it is essential for them to dress cleanly, execute efficiently, and interact formally with guests.

Responsibilities:

Following direction from the TMA Lead Prep Chef and Cafe Supervisor.
Setting the RWC cafe line for the day.
Thoroughly complete all prep & production delegated from the TMA Lead Prep Chef.
Following of cafe recipes.
Perfect ex*****on & plate up of cafe dishes while on the line.
Opening + closing the kitchen & cafe space, following and signing off on opening/closing checklist.
Proper labeling + storage of food product.
Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment.
Maintain an organized cafe and catering kitchen.
Follow kitchen procedures and recipes.
Running dish as needed.
Adhering to Florida Division of Hotels & Restaurants food safety standards.

Candidates must have the following:

Ability to stand for long periods of time
Ability to lift 20+ lbs
Follow instructions and work as part of a team
Punctuality
Clean, polished, guest-facing appearance
GREAT customer service skills!
Previous experience in a cafe setting is a PLUS!

Operating under the Riverwalk Cafe, a SaltBlock Hospitality Group concept, located within the Tampa Museum of Art, the POS Attendant + Barista, serves an integral role of the Front of House (FOH) Team in extending superior hospitality to cafe guests, and TMA patrons. In addition to handling the day-to-day transactions of the cafe, the POS Attendant + Barista is charged with executing the cafe’s coffee program. Reporting directly to the Cafe Supervisor, the POS Attendant + Barista ultimately supports the cafe team by contributing to the upkeep and maintenance of the cafe space, and fulfills other aspects of the FOH as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The POS Attendant + Barista will be responsible for the following:

Extends attentive thoughtful hospitality to cafe guests and museum patrons.
POS Operation & knowledge.
Proper handling of cash and credit card transactions, and communicating cash needs to the Cafe Supervisor.
Display full menu knowledge of cafe food program and serve as a back-up to the Cafe Line Chef and the Cafe Server.
Perfect understanding & operation the espresso machine and coffee program.
Full knowledge of cafe wine, beer and spirits program.
Maintaining a clean, well kept cafe space exceeding the health and sanitation standards set by the Florida division of Hotels and Restaurants.
Answer phone inquiries as needed.
Performing setup and breakdown procedures as it relates to the opening and closing of the cafe.
Supports the cafe team both in FOH and BOH.

Compensation:

Base hourly rate + tip pool gratuity that averages to $10 to $15 per hour.

Join us this Wednesday, November 7 at noon for the UT and TMA Performing Arts Lunchtime Series scheduled for the first Wednesday of every month,

Guests will enjoy a preview of Pirates of Penzanze, directed by Paul Finocchiaro, Associate Professor of Theatre.

The Riverwalk Cafe at TMA will offer the perfect companion with a lunch special featuring a half sandwich with a choice of slad/chips and small dessert.
