Tailor says crease in fabric under the bust is due to dry cleaner damage but I'm not sure. Is there a way to make this better?

I bought this wedding dress used (Cinq Elizabeth dress). I asked my tailor if it was possible to address the crease you can see under the pleated bust area. She claims it’s because the fabric was damaged when it was cleaned previously. I can’t tell if she just doesn’t wanna touch it because of complexity or if that is a legit explanation. I don’t understand enough about fabric, but I’m wondering if there’s anything I can do to make it even a bit better. Thank you!

The first dress I tried on and I think I fell in love!

This is absolutely crazy, but I went to a bridal sample sale today and think I found the dress of my dreams!!

I went to the sample sale on a whim, just to check out what was available out there and maybe try on some different silhouettes to see how they looked on my body. I thought it might be lower-key than a full bridal appointment where everyone was staring at me for my reaction 😅 This was actually the first dress that I picked off the rack and the first one that I tried on 😂 I had read about brides doing this before and thought, "psh, no way that will ever be me" and that I would need to visit a billion shops to decide. But I tried on a bunch after this one, and kept wanting to put this one back on. When I finally did about 10 dresses later, I still loved it and didn't want to take it off.

I thought about waiting and trying to find this model online later if I still thought about it, but then found out that it was basically impossible to find online, and that it was a dress sent by the designer for the sample sale, so I probably would not be able to find it anywhere else unless I was really lucky.

Not to mention!!! It was a $2500 dress that was priced at $499 🤯 I am definitely a sucker for a good sale, but I realized that even if it was full price, I wanted to buy it. I also had to hand it to an employee for a bit to go move my car, and was nervous the whole time that it would accidentally be put back on the rack and taken by someone else. The employee told me that was a good sign haha 😄

Soooo I bought it!!! And will likely still try some bridal shops for the full experience with my loved ones (I was by myself at the sample sale, unfortunately), but I had to have this one just in case 💖 and now it is sitting in my closet and I want to go put it on every hour 🤪 all this to say, try things you wouldn't think you want and have an open mind!!! Maybe the right dress is just waiting to come to you 👗

Reassurance about my dress

I bought this dress while postpartum and loved it. I felt like a princess. It was very basic and simple, but was perfect for the price and I was happy. I have since lost 25 lbs and now when I wear it, I’m a little worried it’s to not jaw dropping gorgeous like I thought. The first two pictures are from my alterations fitting, she is going to button up the slit for the ceremony and then for the reception I’m going to lose the petty coat and undo the slit. I’m also going to have fake buttons added to the back to give it more character. I’m a month out from my wedding and just looking for some reassurance that I didn’t make the wrong decision. It doesn’t really have train, it’s not intricate, nothing major. Which I loved at first because I want to wear the dress not have the dress wear me. My wedding is summer black tie. The last picture is the day I bought the dress with no shape wear on and pre losing weight. Am I just having typical pre wedding dress jitters or did I fu? HELP

Right fit for body type?

So I tried on a dress at the beginning of June and it was one of the first dresses I tried on. I had an idea that I was looking for something whimsical and maybe a Basque waist. This went the opposite direction. I have shown a few people photos of my first dress and the consensus is that it is beautiful and fits me very nicely. I am now worried that I look too big for such a body contouring and defining dress, as I really have only seen photos of much skinnier women in dresses if this style. I tried another style yesterday and can't decide what actually suits my body type more. Help feeling confused. First dress is with the bouquet 💐

Wedding dress help!

I am in disagreement with my seamstress about my wedding dress and it’s making me feel self conscious. My seamstress absolutely insists that my dress is not too tight on the back however I literally have cleavage on my back due to the zipper pinching. The way that this is bunching is not flattering and although it fits on the front the back just isn’t looking great. What can I do to fix this? I was thinking of asking her to add a partial corset just to the top part before the split to the bottom of my dress. Is this possible or are there other alternatives? Feeling stressed as my wedding is in September.

In need of budget breakdown/suggestions for alterations

Not sure if this is allowed or if I should go on the new sub, as I need advice on alterations/pricing/suggestions. I loooove the idea of this vintage dress but there are so many things I’d want to change: the back/waistline feels off, I’m not sure how I feel about the sleeves, the zipper is broken, and I’d love a waltz/tea length. It has some stains too. Would I be opening a really intense and expensive can of worms?

I found a dress!

I didn’t expect to fall in love with a dress today but I ended up choosing this Ruthie by Casablanca dress! I felt great in it. What do we think? I originally wanted to wear a colorful flower crown but I don’t know if that goes with the vibe of this dress. Suggestions for that would be great! I did opt to change out the skirt material with satin so there was more movement, however does make me super nervous since I haven’t seen it fully like that so please encourage!

It’s also super hard for me not to show my fiancé (he doesn’t wanna see) so please help me with that too if you can!!

Concerns about my dress

Thoughts about my wedding dress? 😅

I’ve always been self conscious about my upper arms. Should I try off the shoulder detachable sleeves? Or do my arms look fine?

Should I add in any extra appliqué to the bodice or something to give it a little more character?

We are currently working to close the plunge a little and will be adding in cups.

Found a dress that feels so me, but need to hear honest opinions

I recently tried a dress that feels so me. At least from what I can see, the shape & cutting are very flattering to my body shape. This style also aligns with my style preferences. However, it might lean too much towards a lingerie look that my more conservative Asian families might gasp upon.

Can you tell me your honest opinion about the dress or suggest any possible alterations/additions/improvement? All comments are highly appreciated!

1980s dress redesign?

I’m considering redesigning my mom’s 1984 wedding dress for my own wedding in June 2027.

I love the sentimental meaning behind wearing something connected to her, but I’m not sure how realistic it would be to modernize the dress while still keeping some of its original charm.

I’d love thoughts on whether this kind of redesign seems possible and what changes could make it feel more current.

Would you alter the silhouette, sleeves, neckline, fabric details, or keep most of the original look?

Any ideas or advice would be appreciated!
