Bittersweet but beautiful. Winning this award for the 7th year in a row is nothing short of humbling. We can’t thank you enough for taking the time to vote and for choosing to spend your hard-earned money with us.

King of the Coop has never been about me. It’s about the people who show up every day to cook, serve, and hustle, and about every single guest who walks through our doors. Without our team and without you, there’d be no King of the Coop.

From me, Joe, I can only say this: I am grateful. I am hopeful. And I’m ready for whatever the next chapter holds. Thank you for being part of this journey—we wouldn’t be here without you.

Just a pic of and letting yall know we haven’t forgotten about you all. A lot of yall have reached out to us on either here or individually and we are thankful for all the love. 📣 Coop fans, after a lot of thought, we’ve made the call to close our Seminole Heights location. ❤️ Since day one, our team has been our #1 priority. The thought of continuing with the very real risk of not being able to pay them is something we simply can’t do.

🔥 This isn’t goodbye—it’s a shift. You can still get your crispy, juicy chicken and porchetta at .303 in Mulberry, where things are continuing. Bernard and Trish have also been offered positions there, because they’re not just teammates—they’re family and if they choose to come we’d love to have them. And we take care of family.

✨ Who knows—maybe one day you’ll see us back in Seminole Heights or around Tampa for a pop-up or catering event. Until then, you can always reach out to me directly on Instagram if you’d like to snag some of our house-made seasonings or a catering, or even just say hey if you see me out and about.

Past few days have been wild. We just want to say thank you to everyone for commenting and posting positive vibes our way as well as feedback we can learn from of your experiences. We take it all to heart. The good, the criticism, and the bad. We take it all. All we do is be better with each meal. We open Seminole Heights tomorrow at 11am. We hope to see you all. We know it’s hot too. Trust us. We also know some of you all can’t come and support or don’t like us and won’t come and support and we want you to know from us that that’s ok. Times are tough not just for us but for a lot of people. And to those who don’t like us that ok too. I don’t expect everyone to like what we do. If our story made you think of a small business you haven’t been to in a while and you support them instead of coming to us we respect that. It shows your nature to really support people trying to do good in your community. If our post did nothing for us but it does for others then I’ll say it was a thing of success.
