Thank you for your patience over the past few weeks. We wanted to share a brief update.

In late November, our owner, Kathleen, experienced an unexpected health matter that required immediate medical attention and time to recover. While she recovers, it has become clear that we needed to pause operations and thoughtfully reassess how That’s Wat’Sub can continue to serve you.

As a result, we transitioned away from our East Tampa storefront.

This brand was built with love, community, and Caribbean flavor at its heart — and that hasn’t changed. We’re incredibly grateful for the support, kindness, and encouragement you’ve shown, and we look forward to sharing what’s next once we’re ready.

What an incredible day at That’s Wat’Sub! 💛💚

We were deeply honored to host Mayor Jane Castor and the City of Tampa team on October 29, 2925 for a special press conference celebrating the 2nd anniversary of the City’s Small Business Navigator Program — right here at our East Tampa location!

This milestone means so much to us, as That’s Wat’Sub was recognized as one of several small businesses that have leveraged the City’s small business resources to grow, rebuild, and continue serving our community.

A heartfelt thank you to Mayor Castor for her leadership and for championing small businesses like ours, and to everyone who joined us for this unforgettable moment — including Tim Spearman of the Small Business Navigator program, Shawn Ferguson of SBDC Hillsborough, the CDC of Tampa, our loyal customers, friends, and family. 💛

We’re grateful for this recognition and even more excited for what’s ahead — expanding opportunities, empowering young women through our new youth workforce program, and continuing to share the rich flavors and spirit of Haiti and the Caribbean with Tampa Bay. 🌴🥪✨
