👽🎬 Mars Attacks! is taking over Kleman Plaza!

The Tallahassee Film Festival returns October 8–11, and we’re teaming up for a special night of live music and a FREE outdoor movie in the heart of downtown!

Join us on Saturday, October 10 as The Disasternauts take the stage at 7:00 PM, followed by a special 30th anniversary screening of Tim Burton’s Mars Attacks! on the big screen at 8:30 PM.

🍿🎬 Movies in the Park returns this fall!

It’s been a hot summer, but fall is just around the corner! That means cooler days, earlier evenings, and FREE movies on the lawn at Kleman Plaza!

Our Movies in the Park series returns for three nights this fall:

👻 Wednesday, October 14 at 7 PM — Ghostbusters
🏈 Wednesday, November 11 at 6 PM — The Replacements
🚂 Wednesday, December 9 at 6 PM — The Polar Express

Bring your blankets and lawn chairs, grab dinner or drinks from your favorite downtown spot, and join us for a movie under the stars in the heart of downtown Tallahassee. The Challenger Learning Center will have popcorn and movie snacks available for purchase from their takeout window and you can also order dinner delivered to you on the plaza from participating restaurants.

Admission is FREE!

Another underutilized downtown property is getting new life.

Boulos Corporation has acquired 110 South Monroe Street and is planning a significant renovation of the property, transforming a highly degraded building into new, professionally designed commercial space in the heart of downtown Tallahassee.

A key part of the project will be the creation of affordable units targeted to startups, young entrepreneurs, and growing businesses looking for a place to establish themselves downtown. Creating more accessible spaces for small businesses and new ventures is an important part of building a stronger, more active downtown economy.

Investments like this demonstrate the opportunity that exists in reinvesting in existing downtown properties. By renovating and reactivating underutilized buildings, we can preserve valuable real estate, bring more businesses and daily activity into the urban core, and continue building toward a more vibrant 18-hour downtown.

We’re excited to see another important downtown property positioned for a new chapter.

Bring your favorite lawn chair or blanket, gather your friends and family, and enjoy an evening of live music beneath Tallahassee’s iconic oak trees from 7:00–9:00 PM. You’ll also find local art vendors, delicious food trucks, and beverages available for purchase from Charlie Park Rooftop

Looking for something fun to do over the holiday weekend? Kick off your Independence Day celebration in downtown Tallahassee at A Star-Spangled Celebration on Friday, July 3 at Kleman Plaza!

This FREE, family-friendly event has something for everyone:

🎬 4:00 PM – Free IMAX screening of National Treasure at the Challenger Learning Center of Tallahassee (no tickets are required; seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis)
🌭 6:00 PM – Food vendors, an instrument petting zoo, and family-friendly games and activities on Kleman Plaza
🎶 7:00 PM – A patriotic concert by the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra featuring a brass quintet and community sing-along
