🥂 Kanpai!
In Japanese, it means “cheers”—a toast to good company, good food, and great wine.
il Lusso is proud to be the only local restaurant carrying these bottles from Kanpai Wines, “artisanally crafted wines that express the terroir of some of the best vineyards across Napa and Sonoma in winemaker Steve Matthiasson’s classically balanced style.”
Take a look at what we’re pouring right now, with winemaker’s notes from the website below. Ask your server or bartender for more details.🍷👇
Hi no Tori Cabernet Sauvignon
WINEMAKER’S NOTES
Beautiful Damson plum and blackberry fruits accented by earthy black tea and cigar box lead into a juicy and lip-smacking palate, with silky tannins and a refreshing finish of cedar and red cherry.
Hikari No Hana Red Wine
WINEMAKER’S NOTES
This red wine expresses the traditional marriage of the Bordeaux varieties. Soft and full like a new blossom, fresh mint mingles with lofty red fruits, Bing cherry, and black plum. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon for power and complexity, Cabernet Franc for finesse, and Merlot for softness.
Tsuchi No Koe Estate Cabernet
WINEMAKER’S NOTES
This single vineyard Meadowbrook Farm Cabernet Sauvignon underwent multiple harvests to reap the greatest complexity and expression of terroir. A pas de deux of fruity and savory flavors dances across the palate. Focused red cherry, raspberry, and red plum contrast black tea, black olive, cedar box, and to***co. Balanced, firm structure underlies a complete beginning, middle, and end.
Fuyu No Tsuki Dessert Wine
WINEMAKER’S NOTES
Concentrated fruits with notes of currants and dried cherries. Black pepper, herbes de provence, and molasses. Full bodied and mouth coating. The luscious sweetness is balanced by acidity and grippy tannins. Delicious and approachable now, but this wine will reward cellaring and develop greater complexity with time in bottle.
