Local Vendor Spotlight: Orchard Pond 💚

We are proud to carry local staples from Orchard Pond, a family-owned organic farm located in Tallahassee’s Red Hills region. What began as an organic garden in 2008 has grown into a local favorite offering products such as raw, unfiltered honey, organic olives, olive tapenade, pesto, granola and more.

This is what Community Co-op Market is all about, connecting our neighbors with local farmers, makers and vendors while keeping more of our dollars within the community. It is also about supporting one another and treating the people around us with care, dignity and respect.

Every local purchase strengthens the community we share.

Our next Co+operative Values weekend is a cut above! With Labor Day coming up on Monday, September 7, this is the perfect time to stock up for cookouts, family meals, or a few freezer favorites.

From September 4 through September 6, everyone can save 10% on all regular-priced fresh and frozen meat and seafood. No membership is required to shop.

This rotation highlights Cooperative Principle #3, Member Economic Participation. When member-owners invest in the co-op, their shared equity helps provide the capital needed to operate, grow and strengthen our community-owned grocery store.

Thank you for continuing to show up and support your co-op. We appreciate you! 💚

This weekend’s Co+operative Values sale celebrates fresh food and the power of having a voice in your co-op! From August 28 through August 30, everyone can save 10% on all regular-priced produce. No membership is required to shop.

This rotation highlights Cooperative Principle #2, Democratic Member Control. As a community-owned cooperative, our member-owners can vote, elect the Board and help shape the co-op’s future.

Thank you all for your continued support. We see you showing up, filling your carts and spreading the word, and we appreciate every one of you more than we can express. 💚

We know the past several days have brought concern, uncertainty and many questions. We hear you, and we are deeply grateful to every member, shopper, employee, farmer, vendor and community member who has shown how much this co-op means to Tallahassee.

Please swipe to read this important message from our Board of Directors. We are committed to keeping you informed as we move forward together.

We have heard the community’s questions about why Community Co-op Market has not yet publicly commented on or reshared Wis Benoît message.

Our Board is currently leading communications and discussions regarding the future of the co-op. We have been careful not to speak ahead of that process or share information before it was publicly communicated by the Board. Now that Board member Wis Benoit has shared his perspective publicly, we are resharing his message so our members and the greater Tallahassee community can read it directly.

As Wis shared, Community Co-op Market needs to generate approximately $120,000 in weekly sales to operate sustainably. In recent years, our weekly sales have typically remained between $100,000 and $110,000. Although our staff has worked hard to increase sales, improve efficiency and create a better shopping experience, a financial gap remains.

Here is what gives us hope: Community Co-op Market has approximately 2,800 active members. If each member spent just $30 more per month at the co-op, we could exceed our monthly sales goals.

Your support right now can make a meaningful difference. Stop in for your weekly groceries, purchase from our local farmers and independent vendors, explore our current deals and invite someone new to shop with us. You do not have to be a member to shop, everyone is welcome.

Our doors are open, and our team remains here to serve you. Please continue following our page for official updates from the Board. Thank you to everyone who has reached out, shared our story and continued supporting your community-owned grocery store. 💚
