Hi friends! A few answers for the FAQs I get lately:
-No, we are not closed permanently.
Insurance does not move at a quick pace. We have to wait through all these bullet points before moving forward and the biggest piece is the insurance company doing their job, which so far, they have not completed.
-No, I did not start the fire. It happened in the middle of happy hour on our busiest day of the week, at the end of All Youth Can Eat, and while I was 3 hours east enjoying the holiday weekend with my family. Anyone who wants to continue spreading that little tidbit is welcome to say it to my face.
-We are currently in the process of working through the demo and cleanup with the restoration company, which again, is not a quick process. They have to itemize, list, and monetize every item that was affected. Including but not limited to, all food items, dishes, equipment, furniture, etc. And, then we have to wait for insurance underwriting to approve it.
-Restoration is not the same as rebuild or replace. That is the next step.
-No, the business is not up for sale/auction/whatever else you may have heard.
-Once restoration and rebuild have begun, then we get to start the super fun process of dealing with health dept and the associated permits to get reopened. Also, not a super quick process.
We are working every day to get closer to a reopening of a Spud’s that’s better than ever. And once things start moving in a way that’s beneficial, I’ll start providing more regular updates. In the meantime, please understand that just because you hear something, doesn’t make it true. Unless you hear it directly from me, Tracie, or from an official update on this page, it’s probably just gossip from some bored folks who spend too much time on tacompton files.
We miss you all and we still love your vibe!! Hope to have something for you soon 🧡🍕
