Introducing… the COCO MELLOW! 🤎🤍🧡

Our first of the two Cookie Competition winners, dreamed up by Genesis from the TK class at Franklin Elementary and brought to life by and our stellar bakers. The Coco Mellow is an abuelita spiced chocolate cookie with folds of marshmallow fluff throughout, and finished with coconut and crispy graham crumbs. It’s chewy and crispy and a delight in every bite, and already a fan favorite—you won’t want to miss it!

We’ll be baking them all summer long, and profits go to the Franklin PTSA, which we think will make every bite that much sweeter. Come treat yourself, Tacoma! 🍪

New summer pastries have hit the shop!! Each more delicious than the last—you gotta try them all! 😋

💚 Rhubarb danish - Earl Gray tea-steeped pastry cream, fresh rhubarb strawberry jam, vanilla poached rhubarb

💛 Picnic brownie - A malted milk brownie filled with crispy ruffles potato chips, crunchy pretzels and a layer of toasty marshmallows on top

❤️ Pulled pork and pepper jack croissant - House braised carnitas rolled up with a slice of pepper jack cheese and garnished with a pickled jalapeño

🩷 GF banana mini loaf - topped with sweet coconut glaze and toasted coconut

🤍 Genesis’s ‘Coco Mellow’ cookie - A chewy and crispy delight dreamed up by 4-year-old Franklin student, Genesis, and the first winner of our elementary school cookie competition! Warm abuelita spiced chocolate cookie with folds of marshmallow fluff throughout, and finished with coconut and crispy graham crumbs

💜 Ube muffin - A sweet muffin filled with house made Halaya jam and topped with a crispy coconut crumble

We tried something really cool this month and started up a cookie design competition! 🥳🍪🥇We partnered with Franklin Elementary, inviting students to tell us about their dream cookie, and now, we will be bringing two of them to life!

And the winners are… 🥁

Genesis from the transitional kindergarten class with the “Coco Mellow” cookie, which is an abuelita hot chocolate cookie base with chocolate chips. Marshmello fluff topping mixed with vanilla bean and coconut sprinkles on top. Genesis also wants to add a graham cracker sprinkle on top as well! 🍫

And Emile from first grade with the “Breakfast on the Run” cookie that had a maple cookie base with browned butter to taste like a golden brown pancake. Inside will be blueberries, because it is a blueberry pancake. On top will be a slice of butter so it will look like a pancake and movies. 🥞

Thank you to all the kids who submitted such amazing and creative and delicious ideas, and special congratulations to Genesis and Emile on their winning entries!

We have all the entries up in the shop, so come in and take a peak.

Now Baker Alec and his incredible team will do the hard work of making them a reality. We plan to have Genesis’s cookie available in the shop from June to July, and Emile’s from August to September. And $3 of every cookie sold will go to the Franklin PTSA. They’ll be using the proceeds to purchase new gym equipment for the school. 💜💜💜

❤️‍🔥 Grilled Chicken Sandwich: marinated chicken thigh, lemon-herb aioli, green goddess sauce, lettuce, tomato, onion, all stacked high on a potato bun. The green goddess is 🧑‍🍳💋

❤️‍🔥 Tofu Fritter Po’boy: potato-tofu fritters, lemon-herb aioli, lettuce, tomato, serrano-lemongrass hot sauce, on baguette. One of your finest creations Chef , truly a delight.

❤️‍🔥 Carnitas torta: mouthwatering pulled pork, chili-lime crema, cheddar, slaw, tomato, pickled red onions, serrano-lemongrass hot sauce, all in it to win it on a potato bun.

The spring pastry lineup is here, and it’s dazzling!
