Since 2013 we have worked closely with Stewardship Partners to put our commitment to healthy waterways and salmon habitat restoration into action.

This week, we joined Stewardship Partners in Carnation to help restore salmon habitat along the Snoqualmie River and Ames Creek. We dug out invasive blackberry roots and planted native trees and shrubs.

Together, we contributed:

- 15 volunteers
- 38 volunteer hours
- 250 trees planted
- 2,500+ square feet maintained

Thank you to Stewardship Partners for leading this work and to our team for showing up, digging in, and giving back to the waters that sustain wild salmon. 💙

PART TWO: A giant chowder bowl takes imagination. And a lot of custom fabrication. 🥣

Duke asks Mike Dillon from Dillon Works
the big question: did he think he could actually build it?

Mike admits it wasn’t easy, but bringing unusual ideas to life is exactly the kind of challenge his team takes on. With his Imagineering background, it’s easy to see how Duke found the right person for the job.

Duke’s verdict? “Spectacular.”

Watch the rest of the story behind our Green Lake chowder bowl, then come see it for yourself! 💙

Not your uncle's seafood boil (though we think he'd approve) 😋

We've elevated this popular neighborhood-style seafood feast and given it a PNW spin. You owe it to yourself to give it a taste!

Introducing Duke's Ultimate Fisherman's Favorite: Nova Scotia cold water lobster tail, wild Mexican Pacific prawns, green lip mussels, local Manila clams, tender calamari, wild Alaska halibut, salmon, and cod, plus nitrite-free andouille sausage, organic potatoes, and sweet corn, simmered in a buttery light creole-seasoned broth.

It's the perfect soup for this transition into fall in the northwest: hearty, packed with flavor, adventurous, and great for sharing. It's served with a bib so you can really get at it plus our famous sourdough for dipping.

The Ultimate Fisherman's Favorite is available on our Chef Bill's Specials sheet until the end of October, so come on down to your local Duke's and give it a try before it's gone!

A chowder bowl this big deserves its own story. 🥣

If you’ve visited us in Green Lake, you’ve probably spotted our giant chowder bowl… but have you ever wondered what went into making it?

Duke Moscrip sat down to chat with Mike Dillon of about the process behind bringing this wild idea to life.

Check back in soon for part two to learn more about how we pulled this off! 👀

Our love for seafood begins with respect for where it comes from. 🌊

Great seafood starts with healthy waters, responsible sourcing, and people who care.

This National Seafood Month, we’re celebrating the wild seafood we’re fortunate to serve and the many people who make it possible, from the fishermen and partners who help us source responsibly to our chefs and team members who bring it to your table.

Choosing sustainably sourced seafood is one small part we can play in supporting healthier oceans, rivers, lakes, and tributaries, and the wild seafood that depends on them.

We’re grateful to be part of this community and proud to continue making thoughtful choices for the waters and seafood we all love.

Happy National Seafood Month! 🐟💙

The Duke’s Damsel on a Train team has made a lot of progress in the past few months, thanks to your support and the hard work of our beneficiary partners. Here’s what your support is helping make possible for salmon recovery. 🐟

Stewardship Partners $120,000 committed of $175,000 planned

We’re proud to partner with Stewardship Partners on the Colonnade project along the I-5 corridor. At Colonnade Park, the project will install multiple “Boxes of Rain” filtration systems to capture and treat polluted stormwater before it reaches Lake Union and the Ship Canal, an important passage for salmon returning to nearby watersheds.

The runoff contains 6PPD-quinone, a chemical associated with tires that can kill salmon before they spawn. This project aims to keep more of it out of our waterways.

Mid-Columbia Fisheries $75,000 donated

Restoration work in the Teanaway Community Forest resumed after the forest reopened following the 2025 Labor Mountain Fire. In October and November, crews and volunteers installed 87 Post-Assisted Log Structures and 13 Beaver Dam Analogs in Jack and Indian Creeks.

These structures help restore natural stream processes, reconnect floodplains, and improve habitat for salmon and steelhead. Students, community volunteers, and restoration crews helped complete most of the planned in-stream work despite fire-related access restrictions and a short construction window before winter.

Trout Unlimited $60,000 donated

At Owl Creek, restoration reached another milestone this spring. Following the installation of engineered log jams in fall 2025, project partners completed 6.7 acres of floodplain restoration in March 2026. They also planted nearly 4,900 native conifers, including Sitka spruce and Western red cedar, to help restore streamside habitat over time.

Early monitoring shows more spawning gravel, deep pools, and connected side channels, all of which support healthier salmon habitat.

We’re grateful to Stewardship Partners, Mid-Columbia Fisheries, Trout Unlimited, and everyone who has supported this work. You can continue to help by enjoying a glass of Up River Red™ or Up River White™ at Duke’s Seafood. For every glass purchased, we donate $1 to salmon recovery right here in our backyard. 💙

Wild-caught Alaska salmon, frozen? You bet! And we think it’s the best way to serve it.

For nearly 30 years, Duke’s has sourced troll-caught salmon from independent Alaska fishermen who care deeply about their communities, oceans, and rivers. Their catch is carefully processed and flash-frozen within hours. This locks in the fresh-caught flavor and that firm, beautiful texture we love.

Why frozen instead of “fresh”? Salmon season is short, travel is unpredictable, and time and temperature can affect quality long before a fish reaches a restaurant kitchen. Freezing at the source protects the flavor we’re looking for and lets us serve exceptional wild Alaska salmon all year long.

Wild-caught costs more than farmed, but for us, responsible sourcing and the best taste are worth it.

Come taste the difference for yourself. 🐟❄️

A little behind the scenes with our Duke’s team. 🍷

Our General Managers recently spent the day in Woodinville visiting two of our incredible w**ery partners. At JM Cellars, Owner, Founder & Winemaker John Bigelow put us to work stomping beautiful Merlot grapes as they prepared for harvest. Then, we joined Mark McNeilly at Mark Ryan Winery for a team w**e training.

Great w**e starts with great people, and we loved spending the day learning from some of the best.

Cheers to our Washington w**e community! 🍇🍷
