Today my daughter continued with my birthday celebration at Jane's Tea House, Haddon Heights, NJ.
We enjoyed High Tea at this cute, understated, feminine establishment. Both of us had scones, soup, 4 different little savory sandwiches, 4 petite desserts and of course, tea. A great, unhurried place for ladies to sit back and enjoy some girl talk. We ended up buying some savory scones, sm. croissants and their delicious chicken salad to enjoy at home at some point. You never know what you'll find in some of Jersey's small towns!

Trying this place out for the 1st time to celebrate Dec birthday of Faithful Dining Companion and Jan birthdays of myself and #2 Foodie.

Nice looking place; good cocktails and wine.

FDC started off with onion soup...no surprise there! Lol 2nd course was a Caesars salad then onto a filet mignon with a dbl stuffed baked potato.

#2 started with mushroom chowder; then Caesars salad. Entree - filet mignon au pouve with Bleu cheese gratin potatoes.

I had grilled octopus, wedge salad & grilled lamb chops with dbl stuffed bake potato

The octopus was perfectly grilled, and the soups were good, but all could have used a bit more seasoning. Salt and pepper at the table would have helped to make them very good. Our server provided salt upon request.

Salads were what you'd expect...nothing more; nothing less.

But the meats...the meats....delicious and tender, even though one of the steaks was a little over-done. Still, tender and delicious. Each had rosemary sprigs and 1/2 of a roasted garlic bulb to spread on the steak...nice touch!

Desserts: 1 butter cake with blueberry compote, candied nuts and marscapone which was fine, and 1 bananas foster Creme Brule which was good

Service was excellent.

Price? Let's just say it was a birthday treat for 3 and leave it there...😉 And given we drove further than we normally would for a meal...it was good to be there, but I don't think we'll be visiting again. But locals....enjoy!!
