🦞 LOBSTER & FRIENDS COLLAB #6 🦞

Cracking Lobsters with Trillium Brewing Company

Not many people know this, but when we first brewed Fresh Lobster years ago (I think it was May of 2019!), we drew some inspiration for the recipe from Trillium’s Cutting Tiles. It was one of the reasons we brewed this beer with honey. Brewer’s often inspire one another to try different things and emulate things they love about other beers and bring it into their own. it happens all over the world. Brewer’s continually draw inspiration from traditions and techniques to further improve and push the boundaries of their beers.

Now today, and we’ve come full circle.

For our final Lobster & Friends collaboration release, we teamed up with our friend JC to create Cracking Lobsters. It’s a true mashup of the beer that inspired Fresh Lobster.

The base is fluffy oats and wheat for a soft, pillowy body. Then we added something unique to New England, we sourced Cape Cod cranberry flower honey, local to Trillium, bringing subtle floral notes and a sense of place to the beer. Then we loaded it with Australian Galaxy hops, from the whirlpool all the way through to the double dry hop. We get explosive aromas of passionfruit, peach, citrus, and ripe tropical fruit all wrapped in a super soft mouthfeel.

The label was hand illustrated by my brother-in-law, Raphael Shea, paying homage to Trillium’s style, but with our Aurora twist. Anthony Walker bringing it to print.

🦞 LOBSTER & FRIENDS COLLAB #5 🦞

Consider the Lobster

Our fifth Lobster & Friends collaboration gets even more crazy.

Brewed with our friends at Hudson Valley Brewery , Consider the Lobster is named after the famous David Foster Wallace essay.

This is a thought-piece, and a style that both of us do so frequently, it was only natural that we put our heads together on this recipe! This heavily fruited sour leans deep into both of our favorite styles, balancing bright acidity with lots of fruit, and often curious ingredients. Hudson Valley has long been an inspiration for us in this category and this was such an exciting collab for us.

Consider the Lobster is brewed with simcoe cryo hops and NYS wildflower honey, then conditioned with 🥭 Alphonso Mango, 🍍 Pineapple, 🍋 Sudachi Lime,🧂 Maldon Flaked Sea Salt, and a kiss of🥛 Milk Sugar.

The result is intensely aromatic, tart and jucy, bursting with lush mango, ripe pineapple, vibrant citrus, and a refreshing pop of citrus and salinity that keeps everything bright and incredibly drinkable. Sweet. Tart. Tropical. Completely over the top!

Consider the Lobster releases July 31 as part of Lobster & Friends, available on draft at all three Aurora Brewing locations and in limited-release cans.

🦞LOBSTER vs. Broccoli 🥦

In theaters Friday, July 31...

No city is safe. No palate is prepared.

Two hazy giants battle head to head. Only one absolutely ridiculous double lPA emerges.

Created with our friends at Other Half Brewing , Lobster vs. Broccoli is a mashup of their iconic Broccoli double lPA and our Fresh Lobster DlPA.

It’s a blockbuster brew that nobody asked for, but we knew everyone needed.

It’s built on a pillowy base of oats, wheat, and New York State wildflower honey, then absolutely saturated with our special lot of Nelson Sauvin called “Bliss” from Freestyle Hops, Simcoe, Simcoe Cryo, Mosaic, Mosaic Cryo, and the almighty Strata hop.

The result is a monster of a double, exploding with tropical fruit, citrus, dank hop character, and layers of Sauvignon Blanc-like aromatics from the Nelson Bliss.

Be prepared to have your palate stomped!
