Our featured wine this week is:
Pecorino from producer De Angelis!
Fun fact; ‘Pecorino’ isn’t just the name of a grape, it’s also a cheese! 🧀
While the two have no direct correlation other than their name, the grape variety is thought to have been named after the sheep that would graze the vineyards, while Pecorino cheese gets its name from the sheep’s milk used to make it!
If you’re a fan of Pinot Grigio, but want something with a little more oomph, Pecorino is definitely one to try!
Medium-bodied and balanced with excellent acidity, it opens on the nose with delicate floral and citrus aromas, while the palate offers lemon drop and juicy yellow-apple flavors with crisp acidity leaving you feeling refreshed and ready for another!
This Italian white wine comes from Marche in central Italy, it’s fermented and aged in stainless steel, and with a glass in hand it pairs perfectly with any seafood dish, goat cheese, or grilled vegetables!
