National Grid delay risks loss of $100K grant for Miss Prissy’s new restaurant location

Family, we want to keep you updated on what’s happening behind the scenes as we work to open our new Miss Prissy’s location. A significant delay from National Grid in upgrading the electrical system has continued to stall our progress. Because of this, we are now at risk of losing a $100,000 county grant awarded to help bring this project — and new jobs — to our community.

From Miss Prissy's Management 💗

On September 16, 2024, at 8:30 p.m., life changed for Miss Prissy's family in an instant. After eight biopsies, our owner Dreamer Glen opened her MyChart to read the results — and discovered she had been diagnosed with triple-positive breast cancer. There was no family history, no genetic markers, and no warning signs.

Since November 2024, she has endured what she calls being poisoned (through chemotherapy), cut (through surgery), and burned (through radiation). Yet through it all, she stood firm in faith — and today, she can joyfully proclaim that as of March 24, 2025, she is cancer-free! 🙌🏽 All praises to God!

It has been a long and challenging journey, but her faith never wavered. She knew she belonged to God, and that illness was not from Him. She often says, “Cancer had to get permission to touch my body — and if God allowed it, He had a plan to get the glory!” Miss Prissy never doubted that healing would come because the Word declares that we are already healed.

Through this season, her faith has grown stronger, her walk has become straighter, and her testimony has become brighter. She stands as a living witness that GOD IS ABLE! In her own words, “Sometimes you just have to be still, walk with God, and watch Him see you through.”

Now, on October 19th, she will walk in the American Cancer Society Walk in Syracuse — but this year, she’s walking for herself. 💕

In past years, she walked for others. This year, she walks as a survivor. The American Cancer Society played a vital role in her journey, providing financial help for transportation (special thanks to Rochester Regional Hospital) and assistance with medications during treatment.

To give back, Miss Prissy's has set a fundraising goal of $1,000 to help other patients receive the same kind of care and support that sustained her. Every contribution brings hope to someone fighting the same battle. 🙏🏽
