Happy Grandparents Day to the BEST GRANDMA EVER!!! We are so lucky to have my momma living on the farm with us. She is such an amazing help with the kids, fur babies, and grand babies, and we just can’t imagine life without her 🥰 Deb Bradford we are beyond grateful for you and we love you to the moon!!

Farmstand is stocked! I put some watermelons 🍉 out, which makes me nervous because they have been really hit or miss this year 😣 But the ones that are perfect are AMAZING!!! So come try one, and if it isn’t good just message me and I will refund your money 🙂 These are heirloom varieties so they DO have seeds. The yellow ones are my favorite! 😍

Does anyone have a shed they would be willing to donate for a cat house here at the farm? We have had so many cats dropped off, and you know I can’t turn an animal away 😭 We get them spayed/neutered and keep them well taken care of, but at this point we have close to 15 cats!! When a new cat shows up we could use a place to get them acclimated so they know this is home and don’t go on the road and get hit. Our barn is open in the back so it doesn’t work for the acclimation period. It doesn’t need to be fancy!

I wanted to give a positive update on our school situation! After some back and forth with the superintendent and transportation director of Wawasee, they agreed to continue providing transportation for the rest of this year, but starting next year we would have to provide transportation or switch to Whitko Schools. Knowing we would have to make this move eventually, I nervously met with the special education director and two of the teachers at Whitko…I left that meeting crying HAPPY TEARS 😭😭😭 Whitko’s functional skills program is light years above Wawasee’s!! They are doing all the things (and much more) that I have had to fight with Wawasee over for years. Gracie and I were both so excited we decided to make the switch now! She started school at Whitko yesterday and was just beaming when she walked through the door! I truly feel this whole thing has been a blessing in disguise, and wish I would have looked into Whitko’s program years ago. If you are a Wawasee parent of a functional skills student and are able to consider taking your child out of district, CALL WHITKO!!! They go to the YMCA twice a week for swimming, next month they start therapeutic horseback riding, her entire day is spent focusing on improving her functional life skills and maximizing her independence. Kari Baker, if you are reading this you have been wonderful and we appreciate you so much! You are the only thing that saved me from a full blown meltdown for the past couple of years, and we appreciate you so much! Gracie will miss you ❤️
