It’s the end of an era. ☕️🤎

After so many early mornings, countless cups of coffee, lunches, laughs, familiar faces, friendships, and memories, Friday, August 28 will be the final day for Dark Roast Co.

What started as a coffee shop became so much more than that. It became a place where people stopped in on the way to work, caught up with friends, shared stories across the counter, celebrated milestones, and simply became part of our everyday lives.

And what a great time it has been.

We are incredibly thankful for every person who walked through our doors, supported us, brought someone new in, shared a post, ordered “the usual,” or made Dark Roast part of your routine. You made this place what it was.

A very special thank-you to Sally and Jasmine, who have been such a big part of this chapter and have helped carry the shop all the way to the finish line. We couldn’t be more grateful for them. ❤️

So, rather than just saying goodbye, we want to spend this last week celebrating all the good times.

Come see us. Grab your favorite coffee or meal. Tell us your favorite Dark Roast memory. Sit for a while. Laugh with us one more time.

August 28 may be the end of Dark Roast Co., but the memories, friendships, and good times made here will stay with us for a long time.

Sweeny has always been home to me. ❤️

Growing up here, I never imagined one day I’d have the opportunity to open a coffee shop on Main Street and serve the same community that helped raise me.

Since opening in 2019, we’ve had the privilege of serving so many people in our town — from students stopping in after school, to plant workers grabbing lunch between shifts, to hospital and school staffs supporting us throughout the workday and during catering events.

Over the years, we’ve served coffee, sandwiches, burgers, and so many conversations in between. What started as a business became part of our everyday life, and we are so grateful for everyone who supported us along the way.

I also want to give a special thank you to our amazing staff, Sally and Jasmine, who helped keep this place running day after day with hard work, creativity, monthly menu specials, and the smiling faces our customers came to know and love. They’ve truly been a huge part of what made this place special.

Thank you for every coffee purchased, every lunch order, every catering event booked, every recommendation, and every kind word of encouragement. Small towns show up for people in ways that are hard to explain, and we’ve felt that support every step of the journey.

As we look toward the next chapter, we’ve made the decision to put the coffee shop and building up for sale.
