The tea ceremony itself takes about 30+ minutes. After the ceremony, there will be time for reflection and questions. You are welcome to whisk your own bowl of matcha to enjoy during or after the ceremony, although it is not necessary for participation.

Closing the physical space, for now.

Thank you to all of you who have spent time in the teashop tasting tea, slowing down, learning about the tea, tea ceremony, and yourselves. You have fueled my passion for the teashop as an educational space. We originally opened the physical location for Plum Blossom Tea Company because tea is experiential.

At this time, the shift to social distancing has made tea tasting in a retail space seem counter-intuitive to health and well-being.

Plum Blossom Tea Co is not going away, we are simplifying and shifting.

Yes, we will continue to make available premium quality organic teas. You can order online www.plumblossomtea.com and pick up at Heart of Zen (106 Adams St. In Suttons Bay).

My personal disciplines will continue: Zen shiatsu and Asian medicine; practicing Japanese tea ceremony; doing qigong; sitting zazen; training in martial arts; tending my gardens, so that when things shift again, we will be ready.

We have not yet made video demos for tea, although this might change! That said, we are happy to communicate by phone, text, email, or live video chat.
