There was a Red Mug Coffee reunion of sorts last night at Dreamland Supper Club and it was wonderful. The group that would congregate and dominate the RM nearly every Saturday morning for 15 years didn’t miss a beat. Lots of hugs, laughs and conversation. Dorothy Wolden read a poem especially written by RM Poet Lauriate Lucas Dietche, who was not able to attend. The chatter, laughter, the tradition of the reading of horoscopes from The Onion. Normally this occurred at bunched up checkerboard painted tables and red mugs of coffee, was instead over old fashioneds, relish trays, seafood platters, and french fried turkey, on tables in a long line, with old school vinyl tablecloths. The gang was back together (a few were missing, some have sadly passed on, moved away, couldn’t attend) but it felt like family!
Life is good, but lifelong friendships like these, are best!
