FK YOUR DIET is a restaurant that serves great food, but if you follow our page we hardly ever talk about our food. We talk almost exclusively about helping the community. I’m not gonna lie and say it doesn’t worry me that some people may think we’re bragging and we’re not. What our biggest hope is that our actions or stories encourage you to get involved with us or some other organization or even just start doing something yourself. The other reason we share these stories is because we haven’t done one thing by ourselves. Everything we have accomplished has been a real team effort. Starting with Amy and I, our team, customers, volunteers, it takes everyone of us to try make the community a little better, and we have done an amazing job as team. Last night we were helping and feeding foster families and I thought how we have grown from helping just one segment of our community to what we have all accomplished the last 7 months and it’s humbling. Yesterday we had a customer stop by to tell us we encouraged him to house people because of everything we do. It’s the best compliment we will ever get. Thank you all for your love, support, help, couldn’t do it without out you and wouldn’t want to. Love you all

Changing the world is not easy. Doing something new isn't easy. So we keep trying, we keep doing what we hope is best. Sometimes you feel everything is coming at you so fast and you don't know how your gonna do it but you keep the faith. Fox News used some of our Facebook footage of the storm this weekend that demolished our kitchen on the beach. We will be back open feeding people today. Love you all

It's late so nobody is up at this crazy hour on a Friday night, so no one will read this. I'll post it anyways. Today was a long day we did a ton of stuff to help people and I hate to admit it but sometimes a lot of them don't say thanks or they act like you owe it to them. Those kind of days wear you out and give you resentments. Well we received this sweet message and it made the long day worth it.

Hello,
At the end of February I saw your post about Rapid Recovery Construction Academy. We all want to help rebuild the community and this class was the perfect place to learn. Our instructor, Mr Myers was a fantastic teacher. I learned so much from him. We graduated today. All 30 of us have many more opportunities than we had last month.

I just want to say thank you for posting.
And thank you for all that you do.

This is what 54 years of love looks like. This is what sacrificing the last 3 years of staying home with your partner who is recovering from kidney surgery looks like. This is what you do on your first outing in years because your partner gave up something they love for something they love more. This couple is the picture of love. Michael was our first volunteer, see he has a problem, he loves kids, he loves helping and we all will reach that point where you stop being coach or retire and you wanna help and you don't want to do the normal volunteering, you want to be in the action. So he just started coming in and working. Fine by me, we needed the help. Whether your paid or volunteers, I treet you the same. We have a job to make our customers day better, we want their vacation to be better because they ate at our restaurant. Michael was as big a part of our team as any employee. Then he had to give it up for something he loved more. So on their first outing to celebrate 54 years of love, commitment, happiness, sorrow, loss and success his wife, his beautiful wife says we have to go to FK. Out of all the places she could of chose,, she chose the one that would not only fill their belly but their hearts as well. That's what love looks like. Love you all and hope you experience that kind love at least once in your life.

Happy Monday what a great day to be alive. I've come to the conclusion that there isn't a finish line with what FK is doing. We work like there is but there isn't. Whether it's Ian or foster kids and all of the other people and organizations we help, they're always going to need help. Last week we catered schools and foster agencies and fed thousands of hungry people for free. We donated so much furniture and household items and our reward is we get to do it all again this week. And it is a reward, we have the best job on the planet, helping people out. We are helping people that can't return the favor. It's easy to help someone that you like, or someone who is gonna be there when you need help but so many of the people we help are in tough spots. Especially the kids, we think they are gonna be overjoyed with our support but if you been abused and neglected enough, you don't trust gift givers and you don't know how to thank them. Thank you all that help us help, we need it and appreciate it. Love you all

Happy Easter from everyone at FK YOUR DIET. This is Joanna in the picture. She came all the way from Fort Collins Colorado to help another organization that was helping with hurricane Ian Victims. When she got out here the organization had left town and no one told her. Where that organization was set up at, someone recommended she reach out to us at FK YOUR DIET and see if we needed any help. So Joanna showed up at the beach and asked if we needed any help. We always need help so I said yes. Well what an angel she turned out to be. Her career is a RN working with cancer patients. So for the next 30 days I got to witness true love and the most comforting person I think I've ever met. I think all the volunteers would tell you, most of the people we help are amazing humans, but some are just schmucks. I witnessed her turn these people into happy satisfied customers. I watched how she talked to people struggling and there are so many we're helping that are struggling. When you loose your everything in a matter of a day, it's hard to find anything to be positive about. Somehow though she would get these people to smile. I know we were lucky to have her for the month. She just oozed love for the suffering and I needed to see it, because what all of us are doing can cause burnout and make you a little jaded. Love you all and try to be a Joanna because it will help the people your helping and the people watching you help.

So I feel like p**p. The last day I felt good was on Saturday, I think God knew I was gonna be sick so he gave me lots to think about. FK and a some of it's partners gave a ton of stuff away to help foster families and the community on Saturday. Most of the time I'm running around at our events and don't get to spend much time with any one person too long. Saturday was a little different, for whatever reason I wasn't being pushed in a million different directions and I met this amazing human in the picture. Like me she grew up in foster care. Having some of the negative experiences some of us foster kids have in foster care she decided to do something about it, she became a foster parent. We are in foster care because something went wrong. Most foster kids have experienced some horrible form of abuse, that's how you get into foster care. Unfortunately a lot of foster kids don't ever heal. In all of the foster parents I've met, she's the only one that was a foster kid and foster parent that I can remember. Glad to help her anyway we can. Love you all

These people, the real angels on earth. Got beat up in the storm, destroyed house, still no kitchen but taking care of two foster babies with disabilities. Since becoming foster parents they have helped raise over 66 kids. They came out and got some stuff on Saturday. Some days you think your doing a lot and you meet this amazing couple and you think wow, I can do more. Love you all

Good morning FK Peeps!

FK is the last group on Fort Myers Beach. Providing free meals. Probably because this is our community. Red Cross, FEMA, World Central Kitchen have gone and taken all their support with them. Everytime they leave someone else steps up. Today we will lose our refrigerated truck. It’s the reason why we always have enough meals for day. I am asking our community once again to come through for us. If you or someone you know has a refrigerated truck or chest freezer and would like to loan or donate to our non-profit, please message us. Love you all and we appreciate you helping us to help feed our community!!
