Happy Back to School Week ๐ซ๐
A couple weeks ago, I was talking with one of the teachers at our Hurricane Deck Elementary when she mentioned how crazy the first week of school is for teachers.
Apparently, the first week of school is what professionals would call a โcomplete and total circusโ. And considering our lake community just survived the Gatheringโฆ we feel obligated to help reduce any other circus driven heartache or strain on our systems. ๐คก๐
What really got to me is that she mentioned things get so hectic that some teachers donโt even have time to pack a lunch, and how cool it would be if someone provided meals for them that first week.
I immediately started making phone calls, and within MINUTES, local businesses were jumping at the chance to help take care of the people who spend every day taking care of our kids.
As a direct result of that conversation we have officially started โOPERATION: PD DOORDASHโ!
All of this week, the Sunrise Beach Police Department is collaborating with local businesses to cater lunches for our hard-working teachers! Today we are kicking things off with:
๐ฎ Chicken & steak fajitas
๐ Rice and all the fixings
๐ถ๏ธ Chips & salsa
๐ง And CHEESE DIP, because margaritas during school hours are frowned upon. ๐

Now if only we could get Sgt. Coonio to stop claiming to be a substitute teacher and back to work! Iโm not even sure what he would teach, but he keeps insisting that Lunch be a core subject.
