About this time three years ago, I bought a coffee trailer.

Closed it last year. Listed it last fall.
Responded to a few people, showed it once… but never really pushed to sell it. It just never felt urgent.

Until Monday.

A persistent buyer, and one of those quiet “pay attention, this might matter” moments.

Sold it Tuesday.

Today, we closed on the construction loan for our home.

Which, on paper, has nothing to do with a coffee trailer.

But it doesn’t feel like nothing.

Everything technically works either way,
but not every way is *THE* way.

Some paths are wider, and easier to move on.

This one definitely felt narrower.
Much, much slower….and more specific.

The plan has always been a house.

Apparently the foundation part of that included patience…
and me casually ignoring marketplace messages until it actually mattered.

Still not totally sure I understand the full lesson.
But I recognize it.

“By wisdom a house is built…”

☕️🚑🚨 Important update:

Over the weekend I came down with acute appendicitis and had to have my appendix removed Saturday morning. All of me wants to continue on with plans to open this week for the last time, but realistically that is not a good idea. I will get all t-shirts and bags of coffee filled for sale here in the next couple of weeks and post what’s available since some of you have asked!

I appreciate everything over the last 2 years 🫶

🚨👀🚨 BREW-titul Ending Alert 🚨👀🚨

It was exactly 2 years ago that I was almost *officially* retired from my career as an Army Medic. I had signed out on terminal leave and was getting the kids and myself settled into a new community before the end of summer. There were so many changes happening quickly and a LOT of pressure to be something and do something, but I had a plan…and a logo, and a trailer 😉

Fun fact: My final date of retirement was 9/11/2023. Doc’s Coffee opened for official business on 9/9/2023. I had done it! 💪🏻I had created and opened my own business before I was even officially *off the books*. High five. I was good to go!

Truthfully, I had no idea what I was doing. I googled everything. 😅 Plus, I only knew a handful of people (from visiting over the years since husband is from here of course!). Nothing would stop me though! I got out there and met a whole lot of people. AMAZING PEOPLE. I put myself out there and tried something new, and it was 100% a success in my book.

With that said, I’ve settled back into *civilian life* now. And I have absolutely grown. Part of that growth has been learning what does, and does not, work for me and family. Am I a morning person able to get up and get coffee going? Yes! But am I willing to miss sending my kids off to school each morning to do it? Sigh. That was a kick to the gut, because I had been very accustomed to early mornings and missing things as a mom already. Just because I had, doesn’t mean I should though?

I didnt know what to do, so I took a break. I prayed about it. Told ya’ll, “Events only!” And prayed some more. It appears I won’t be coming back from break. 👀 Oops. Okay what im trying to say is: I have finally come to peace with the decision to end my mobile coffee shop era.

Before I do- I’d like to open up to the public next week for our last hoo-rah.

Thanks everyone for your support and for sharing! Unfortunately with the weather/delays/uncertainties we had to the make the best decision for us and that is NOT to set up for the games today!! We do plan on being there throughout the season as long as the weather holds! Still- we wish all the luck to the teams playing today for Trojan Youth Baseball and Softball!! See you soon!! 🚨⚾️☕️🚑

🚨🚨🚨🚨 We will be set up at Logan Supermart tomorrow morning from 0800-1030 in support of “Clean Up Logan Day” 🗑️

The first Litter Clean-up of 2025 is coming up!

Volunteers needed on Saturday, March 8 for the 13th Annual "Clean Up Logan Day" organized by the Volpenhein Family.
Details in the flyer below.

It's the first of several Clean-Ups scheduled so far for this year by the Dearborn County Anti-Litter Initiative (DCALI).

The others are Saturday, April 12 (Sand Run); Saturday, May 3 (State Line Hill); Saturday, May 10 (York Ridge Hill); and Saturday, Sept. 13 (portion of Georgetown Rd.) ***Scroll to see earlier post for details on these.***

In the meantime -- let's have a good turnout on March 8 and get the Clean-Up events off to a great start!

We survived the *Great Freeze* (that’s what I’ve been calling it lol). By “we” I mean, the I cranked up the trailer and it’s systems and it seems to be working just fine and we’re ready for our upcoming scheduled events!!!

Trojan Youth Baseball and Softball season is also coming up and I’m excited to sponsor a team again and be back up at the fields! I’m looking for a few HIGHLY MOTIVATED, COMMITTED, and RESILIENT CRITICAL THINKERS who are interested in working with me this season. DM me if interested, I will send you an application!

PS: yes you have to be a resilient critical thinker because this is not your ordinary barista job. Sometimes you’re an electrician, and sometimes you find yourself backing up a trailer for me. You never know. 🤪
