This old photo of the Strand Theater always reminds me of our Dad's stories.
He got his first job here at 15 years old as an usher. If you went to the Strand in the early 70s, there’s a good chance he tore your ticket or showed you to your seat.
He always said it was his favorite job. He loved getting to watch free movies and had the best stories about those days — the bright marquee lights, the smell of popcorn, and the excitement of a packed house.
That’s why this picture is going up on the wall at The Boxcar. It’s a piece of him and the Sunbury he loved — the one he always wanted to bring back.
We miss you, Dad. This one’s for you.
