Join us for the enchanting Sumpter Christmas Celebration in Sumpter, Oregon. Experience the magic of the season as we come together to celebrate with festive activities, including a Christmas Bazaar at the Sumpter Valley Museum, where local artisans and neighbors showcase their wares. You will also find joyful music and delightful treats as you shop the bazaar for unique, handmade gifts - while being immersed in the history of Sumpter, Oregon.

The Sumpter Christmas Train will be whistling as it arrives at the Sumpter Valley Railroad depot, just a few steps from the Sumpter Valley Museum. There is never a shortage of cookies and treats when you bring the kids to meet a very special neighbor who rides the Christmas Train every year at this time!

On Saturday (once it gets fully dark—usually about 5 or 5:30), Sumpter's main street will be lined with folks eagerly awaiting the third part of our special Christmas Celebration: The Sumpter Christmas Parade. It is full of traditional Christmas floats, along with local neighbors riding their 4-wheelers all decked out with lights and other Christmas decorations! Bringing up the rear of all this fun is a group of people extra special to us: our Volunteer Fire Department. There will be engines and other vehicles with lights and sirens blazing!

Once the parade has passed, everyone gathers at the Sumpter Community Christmas Tree, put together by volunteers during the Christmas season. There will be an excited countdown to bright lights setting the tree aglow as everyone joins in singing some traditional Christmas carols.

Will it be snowing during all the fun? Usually it is, but there will be burn barrels spread up and down the street, by, you guessed it, VOLUNTEERS, so you can keep your hands warm! :)
