Sometimes I stop and think about all the moments my cookies have been lucky enough to be a small part of.

They’ve been there for weddings, bridal showers, baby showers, birthdays, family gatherings, and simple get-togethers.

They’ve celebrated some pretty exciting accomplishments, including a couple of book launches.

And they’ve also been there during some of life’s harder moments—memorial services and gatherings where family and friends came together to remember someone they loved and lost.

When someone orders cookies from me, I know I’m not just making cookies. I’m creating something that will sit on a table while people celebrate, laugh, take pictures, share stories, welcome new beginnings, and sometimes say goodbye.

I don’t get to be there for those moments—but something I made does.

And I think that might be one of my favorite parts of what I do.
