Poogan’s Porch, established in 1976, is Charleston’s oldest independent culinary establishment and remains one of the most popular destinations for diners in the city. Poogan’s Southern Kitchen was born out of the ever-burgeoning desire and demand to offer that rich history and commitment to quality outside of the Charleston peninsula. Knowing full well Poogan’s Porch could never truly be duplicated away from the walls of the famous 19th century home on Queen Street, it was the careful decision of the family to take its recipes, traditions, techniques, and hospitality to create a stylish Southern diner in its image.
