One of my favorite things to see on my great-grandmothers kitchen table was her homemade creamed corn🌽

If you're looking for some creamy goodness to add to your summer cooking, this is a winner!

Mammy's Creamed Corn

5 fresh ears of corn (shucked)
2 cups water
1 cup flour (I use self-rising)
1 tsp salt
Pepper to taste
2 tbls butter

Shuck and clean your corn.
In a large saucepan, take your knife and remove the kernels from the cob placing them into your pan.

When the ear is free of all kernels, take your knife down the sides of the cob, pushing all the juices of the cob into the pan. (THIS IS WHAT MAKES YOUR CORN SO CREAMY :) ) Do this until the cob is almost dry.

Repeat this with every ear of corn.

Add water and butter. Cook over medium heat until boiling.

Slowly add flour and stir (almost like you're making gravy) to thicken, pressing out any lumps. (Add more water if you need it).

Keep over medium heat for about 5 min or until desired creaminess. πŸ’˜ Add salt and pepper to taste.

It's no secret that we love fall and winter baking seasons. But there's something so hopeful about spring 🌷 and the mouth-watering taste of garden veggies!πŸ…πŸ₯•

For as long as I can remember, my family has always "kept a garden". My parents and I have worked and canned beans and just about anything for generations back.

This year, I'm going to attempt a few, small raised beds (my body is just not cooperative this year).

I really miss growing a garden :(

Any tips? Have you ever tackled a wooden raised bed? How deep? What vegetables? What challenges? Please share and any and all ideas or pictures please!!

While it's tempting to save food for later, these are foods people should not store in the refrigerator.

When I first got married, I received gifts that I had NO idea what they were used for.

I knew they went in the kitchen.
But what do I do with it??

Many things were tucked away and never used, simply because I was young and inexperienced and didn't know what in the world I was doing. πŸ˜‚πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

To help the young cooks and bakers out there, what's some kitchen items you use now that you had no clue how to use before?

What are some "must have" tools in YOUR kitchen?

If you're still wondering what to put on the table for your guest's that's easy and a huge touchdown for the home team, this Bacon Ranch and Pepperoni Cheese Ball is a game changer!!
πŸ§€πŸ“£

Bacon Ranch Pepperoni Cheese Ball

2 pkgs (Philadelphia- its the yummiest) Cream Cheese

2 pkgs Hidden Valley ranch dip mix

1 pk REAL Bacon Bits (or 5 strips of crumbled cooked bacon)

8 oz sharp cheddar cheese (shredded)

1 pkg Mini-pepperonni

2 Tbsp Sour Cream

Mix all ingredients together in large bowl. You'll have to use your hands to get it all good and mixed.
(Leave some Bacon bits, cheddar cheese and pepperoni on the side to roll your cheeseball in for the outside coating.)

Transfer cheeseball onto the plate with the extra bacon, cheese and pepperoni and gently roll it around until its well coated.

Shape the cheese ball however you want...tailored to your occasion. In this case, we did a football and added some mozzarella string cheese for the football threads🏈😎

Cover and let sit in the fridge a couple hours before serving.

Serve with crackers of your choice!
